Sandusky retired after the 1999 season, but he's still news in Pennsylvania.

Report: Ex-PSU coach Sandusky being investigated

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State defensive coordinator known for his charitable work helping at-risk children, is being investigated by a state grand jury on allegations he indecently assaulted a teenage boy, a newspaper reported.

Sandusky has not been charged. A grand jury examines accusations to determine if evidence warrants filing charges.

A message left by The Associated Press at a number listed for Sandusky in State College was not immediately returned. His lawyer, Joseph Amendola, said in a statement that Sandusky maintained his innocence and was disappointed the newspaper published a story "prior to any determination by the Attorney General's Office that he did anything inappropriate at all."

"While Jerry has been aware of an ongoing investigation by the Attorney General's Office for many months dating back to 2009, he has steadfastly maintained his innocence throughout this ordeal," Amendola said.

The Patriot-News in Harrisburg reported Thursday that it spoke to five anonymous sources with knowledge of the case who say a grand jury has been meeting in Harrisburg for 18 months to hear allegations made by a 15-year-old boy in 2009.

The paper reported the teen told authorities that there was inappropriate contact over a four-year period.

He was charged today... this is really awful.

Sex abuse charges have been filed in Centre County against Penn State coaching legend and Second Mile charity founder Jerry Sandusky.

The charges follow a more-than two year grand jury investigation that began when a Clinton County teen alleged inappropriate contact against the 67-year-old former coach.

During the investigation, older allegations from 1998 surfaced as well. In the older case, Penn State police investigated inappropriate touching in a shower.

The charging paperwork has not yet made it to the District Magistrate Judge's office in Centre County. However, felony charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of someone under 16, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault of someone under 16, indecent assault of someone under 13, and corruption of minors charges have been filed in the state court docket system.

The offense dates include 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2005. There are 40 counts included in the paperwork filed against him.

Wow. You go State Penn fan, make sure those blinders on on really tight.

There is no Way a guy who runs a charity and affiliated with the PRestigious Penn state football program would be having Sexual Affairs with 9th to 10th grade girls (too bad it is young boys he was diddling) who take a big yellow bus to school. he could be there Great Great Grandpa. Just completely unplausible. Someone needs to give these girls a lie detector test and a background check. Im sure they can dig up something to discredit them.
Bolded is mine.

Guys a LEgend in Penn State. He will have many, many penn state fans supporting him during these hard times hopefully he will come out a Victor like a true penn state alumni.

Both of the above posted by the same idiot. Now that is total blind homerism.

Very disturbing story.

I don't see this as a time to attack Penn State or their fans in general. They aren't accused of molesting boys. Sandusky is, and if he's guilty, I hope he's brought to justice and put in prison for the rest of his life.
