Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

I was laughing when Dan Patrick said on his radio show that Sports Illustrated sent all of their top guys to State College.

He didn't mention George Dohrmann.

Started laughing after that. Guess SI didn't want to bust any rigged raffles.

But it does. That doesn't mean that there's a Jerry Sandusky on every coaching staff, but in recent years there have been cover ups for sexual crimes at West Point, Annapolis, Colorado Springs, Notre Dame, Miami (Ohio), Colorado... and the beat goes on.

Does that excuse Sandusky, Paterno or Penn State administrators?

[Mike Lupica] You know when people are gonna believe they're serious about doing something about the sexual abuse crimes and their cover-up at Penn State? When the President of Ohio State gets fired for this, okay. I think Joe Paterno's a good person, it's impossible for me to believe that he's like Claude Rains in Casablanca, going 'I'm shocked to discover that sexual abuse is going on.' [/Mike Lupica]

He didn't say that, but he probably wanted to: Link

Penn State has named Dr. David M. Joyner as "acting" AD. He's an orthopedic surgeon who got his undergrad and medical degrees from PSU, and is the former chair for the US Olympic Sports Medicine Committee. He also wrestled at PSU and played football under Paterno.

Joyner wrestled and played football while attending Penn State, and is one of a select group of individuals who have been inducted into the GTE-CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame, which honors "those with the highest standards in college academics, athletics and in life beyond athletics." He is a member of the All-Time Nittany Lion Football Team. He received the Outstanding Football Alumnus Award from the Penn State University Quarterback Club in 1985 and the Penn State Wrestling Club's Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1993. Joyner was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pennsylvania Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1993.
Sherburne, the previous interim AD who introduced Bradley last week, returns to his spot as an associate AD.

Dohrmann's article was a piece of shit and he deserves to not be a top guy. I couldn't believe how much garbage that piece turned out to be.

Goddamnit I am starting to not hate Rick Reilly anymore and it is pissing me off. But this goes beyond all that trivial crap of sports and politics in his usual blather. This is powerful stuff right here. See if the last paragraph in the Gary Thompson story makes you eyes well up like mine did (and that almost NEVER happens really).
