Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

Goddamnit I am starting to not hate Rick Reilly anymore and it is [censored]ing me off. But this goes beyond all that trivial crap of sports and politics in his usual blather. This is powerful stuff right here. See if the last paragraph in the Gary Thompson story makes you eyes well up like mine did (and that almost NEVER happens really).

Good article, still a douche...

Police: No reports from Mike McQueary

A central Pennsylvania police chief says his department did not receive a report from then-Penn State graduate assistant Mike McQueary related to an allegation of child sexual abuse against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.
McQueary, now the Penn State wide receivers coach who was placed on administrative leave Friday, had told a friend in an email that in 2002 he stopped the alleged rape of a boy he thought to be about 10 years old and discussed the matter with police.
.
.
.
"He didn't come to State College police. The crime happened on campus and we don't have jurisdiction on campus," King said. "We've had no reports (of Sandusky sexually abusing someone) from anybody."
The university also has its own police force, and said they have no record of any police report filed by McQueary.
"This is the first we have heard of it," said Lisa Powers, Penn State's director of public information.
In the email, first obtained and reported Tuesday by The Morning Call of Allentown, Pa., McQueary said he "did have discussions with police and with the official at the university in charge of police" after the alleged incident.
In the email, dated Nov. 8, McQueary said, "I did stop it, not physically, but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room," The Morning Call reported.
McQueary did not specify which police department he spoke to.

I have a fetish with ellipses too, but general regulate it to the internet and casual writing. I think it happens more in that type of writing because it is a stream-of-thought style being used.

Also the two funniest things about this comic:

1: The first letters through everyone's mind were A-K-A (not that I can talk).

2: It's an ellipsis, not an ellipses. For cutting on grammar, the author messed up the central word. He or she doesn't realize that ellipses is the plural for ellipsis, or else it is secret **** humor.

You have awfully high expectations of grammar expertise from a Panda Bear...sheez! :roll2:

The Penn State Scandal: Why Is No One Talking About Title IX?

AKA - How everything is the fault of Men & Football.

Many legal proceedings will ensue in the wake of the Penn State sexual abuse scandal that has rocked the nation. Most importantly, there will be the criminal prosecutions of former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky for child sexual abuse, and of Athletic Director Tim Curley and Vice Provost Gary Schultz for perjury.

Civil suits will undoubtedly follow as well, suits that may allow the victims of the horrific alleged abuse to seek money damages against individuals and/or against the university that allowed it to happen. Moreover, the U.S. Department of Education has announced that it will investigate Penn State for potential violations of the Clery Act, which requires colleges to disclose potential crimes occurring on campus.

But in all the reporting and commentary about this scandal, there has been little or no mention of Penn State?s potential liability under Title IX, the 1972 federal statute that prohibits recipients of federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex in their educational programs and activities.

Title IX states that ?No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be . . . subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance . . . .? This statute has had broad-ranging effect, and has been used to challenge gender inequity in a variety of contexts, including school admissions, testing, and scholarships; the treatment of pregnant and parenting students; school athletics; and sexual harassment by teachers and coaches, as well as by other students and third parties.

In this column, we will explore whether Title IX may provide an additional cause of action for the victims of the abuse.

I have no idea how credible this site is, but found this out there too...

As news unravels around the grand jury report revealing charges against former Penn State football defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky for raping and sexually molesting underage boys, some former black Penn State students are now painfully reliving a scandal that occurred at their university ten years ago. In 2000, the year a janitor witnessed a boy younger than 13 (?Victim 8? in a grand jury report) ?pinned against a wall? while Sandusky performed oral sex on him, black students and football players on Penn State?s campus began receiving hate mail.
The hate mail sent to black students had nothing to do with Sandusky?s proclivities, but the two incidences shared something in common: both were ultimately covered up by the university, even as both chain of events grew worse. Sandusky went on to molest and possibly rape more boys, according to a grand jury report (Sandusky denies foul play), and hate mail against black students became death threats.
Ultimately, a black man?s dead body was found by police near Penn State as one of the death threats said it would. And some black students had to attend their graduation the following May with bulletproof vests on in fear of their life.
But few know about the death threats because Penn State and Joe Paterno were not willing to allow bad publicity to ruin the university?s image, say some of the black students at the center of the tragic events.

Ex-DA: PSU case referred due to wife's family tie

A former Pennsylvania county prosecutor said Wednesday that he referred an allegation that former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky had sexually abused a child to state prosecutors because his wife's brother was Sandusky's adopted son.
