Derrick "LLL" Green (RB ttun transfer to TCU)

Found myself reading an interview from a few months ago w/ Tom Herman (cut me some slack, it's the offseason) and I ran across this quote: "We're going to be a [shot]gun, spread, run-oriented football team that has tremendous balance through the play-action pass."

The talk from other schools saying Derrick might not be a good fit in this offense cracks me up. Wouldn't you love to be a back in this offense where the field is stretched to the max, where through formations and no huddle the defense is kept on their heels as much as possible? Plus put him on the field with EE, JM, BM, etc. and it just makes it very attractive for him. The point is that even a bigger bruising back does best in a balanced offense. I sure hope we land this stud and like Mr. Hill he follows his heart and comes to his dream school. He will thrive.

I concur, but to play devils advocate : he is almost perfectly suited for a pro style offense like say Wisconsin. I do agree with all of your points and he'd thrive in our offense, since he'd be the RB that urban wish he had at UF. But im sure the opposing teams' spin is that he wont get nearly as many carries or yards because he'll have to share the ball so much with other Rbs, braxton and our WRs.
I hope he sees through all the bs and comes to cbus, because wed have a dynamic offense with him in the mix for a good number of years

ESPN 150 RB Green talks Buckeyes

TIGARD, Ore. -- Want to know how important The Opening is to ESPN 150 running back Derrick Green? So important that the Richmond (Va.) Hermitage High School standout was in the weight room at the players’ host hotel Wednesday afternoon -- a full day before the event officially kicks off.

Green, the nation’s No. 6 running back and No. 58 overall player in the 2013 class, was the first player to check into the host hotel on Wednesday, and he is entering Thursday’s action with the goal of leaving Oregon as the top running back. Since the Nike Football Training Camp in Baltimore in May, Green has lost 20 pounds and is now 6 foot and 215 pounds.

“[The Opening] is definitely a blessing, and I’m taking it seriously,” said Green, who was 5-11 and 235 pounds in Baltimore. “I’ve been getting ready and getting my mind focused on going out and winning.

“This is an opportunity for me to become the No. 1 running back and not be the No. 6 running back. That’s my goal, to come out here and show my skills and why I should be the No. 1 back.”

Green recently released a list of his top 13 schools – Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Clemson, Alabama, Miami, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. No school is ahead of the other at the present time, but Green said he is looking to trim his list before the start of the 2012 season.

Green said Ohio State’s winning tradition and lively football atmosphere makes it intriguing. One of his closest friends is Buckeyes linebacker Curtis Grant, a player Green considers his “big brother.”

Is it too much to dream of him with Foster, Quick, Gibson, Bell and back to back championships in 2013/14? The possibility of how this class could finish is nothing short of astounding and forces me to have absurd thoughts like repeat championships. I just can't help it.

Ezekiel Elliott, and Derrick Green rooming together at #TheOpening definitely isn't a bad thing for the Buckeyes.

wouldnt say definately. are we sure Ezekial wants another highly touted RB coming in at same position. That being said, I'm sure there is a reason they are rooming together.
