Derrick "LLL" Green (RB ttun transfer to TCU)

If Hyde has a stellar season, even if he does not go pro, it will bring in Green by showing how a big fast back can have success at tOSU.

Agreed, to a certain degree. Green is somewhat hard to read, I can't recall too many recruits who released a 'Top 13' list, and he has a pretty wide range of schools on there - imo.

Back to the original point, I think Carlos (barring injury) will have a big year. Urbz has said multiple times that he has enver really had a 'big' back in this offense before and was looking forward to it. I just forsee Carlos getting the ball 20+ a game, especially given how Urbz feels about the WRs. Furthermore, I feel as though this will make 'Harvin' position more effective and will open up the play-action passing game.

I'll admit, I'm not super familiar with Urbz' offense especially after watching Bollmanmania the last few years. I'm just a guy behind a keyboard, lol.

Lastly, in terms of Green he certainly passes the eyetest and is clearly committed to taking care of himself and trying to make himself the best player possible.

Me thinks it's got nothing to do with showing success at tOSU. It is whether the staff wants him in the class, and whether we have room for him this year. Hope we do, get him.

Well, from everything that's been reported they're still recruting him pretty heavily.

RB Derrick Green visits SEC schools
July, 23, 2012
By Greg Ostendorf | ESPN.com

Derrick Green is weighing his options, all of his options. This summer, the ESPN 150 running has already visited nine different schools, and he made a trip down south over the weekend to check out three more.

The trip began with a stop in Tuscaloosa to visit the University of Alabama. It was the first time the Richmond, Va., resident had ever been on the Crimson Tide?s campus.

?It was really nice,? Green said. ?I got there, spoke to my position coach, spoke to Coach [Nick] Saban, toured the campus. I had a good time seeing the facilities. I got to speak with the strength and conditioning coach. I really like him a lot. It was overall a good trip.?

I honestly think it comes down to spots available. We'll see if we have room if Meyer puts on the full court press this weekend.

He's been a Buckeye fan his whole life, even recruiting is "big bro" Curtis Grant to OSU. I really like our chances should we have room available.

I will be very surprised if we land Mr. Green. I just don't see it happening.

I agree. I feel that if he really wanted to be a buckeye he would've committed. I hope im wrong in the end, but I feel he has realized that he has a plethora of options now and he can pick based on other factors than being a fan. I would love him in our class, but if we got an o linemen instead I wouldn't be too hurt.

Really need to just let this one play out. Derrick is looking around and trying to explore his options, but OSU in in a strong position that will only get stronger once the season starts and he sees our new offense. Until then, you will keep seeing generic updates that mean nothing.

It does make sense that the offensive recruits will have a much better idea of us once the "power run based" spread is seen. Still have him as an outside candidate but hope I am wrong.

I don't understand the timing. Elliot has been on board for months. Why wait until 2 days before FNL to inform the young man?

I agree with you, the timing is weird. Who knows this could just be old info leaking out or something might have happened. Best of luck to the kid. Hope he chooses an ACC school
