If you're going to be an elite program the majority of your team has to be recruited out of high school. There's no way a college program can be sustainably good by living in the transfer portal.

It's like an NFL team ignoring the draft, and trying to build a team solely from free agency. It may work once in a blue moon, but by then, the coach will be fired before that 2nd blue moon

Saw this yesterday. It was updated Monday. They actually have a few more scholarship players than I thought. If I'm reading it right, they have 61 players on scholarship.

Here is the thing though….he turned over the roster of a 1 win team. What does he have to lose?

And a loss by 2 points or 50 is still a loss.

There is a massive difference in the quality of your program if you're losing by 2 compared to 50. They are not the same

Definitely true of course in most cases to value a close loss more than being blown out.

I’m just saying that since everyone knows he is stepping into a shit show and will lose a ton of games regardless, it would be better to turn the roster over faster even if you lose every game by 50 instead of turning it over slower and lose every game by 5.

Deon is selling the sizzle. He did in fact turn his last stop into a winner, and he's selling that. Can truly imagine that the Colorado football players were tested (much like combine), and those below grade were counseled 'out'. Well, candidly they were grabbing 2*s like they were nickel candy bars, so roster turnover is expected. Just not as much as seeing. Jax, mayhaps he used pretty women as part of the 'sizzle'? We'll see what kind of product he puts on the field come the season.
