Yes, this is one of the best super-hero movies ever made. That being said, I don't think anything in it deserves to go down in cinematic history as best of all time. This batman series was billed as trying to be a less far-fetched, with batman being very human, but some of the stunts and things he does go off the deep end. It's nothing so bad to ruin the movie, but it's out there.

I did think it started to drag just a little bit at certain points, too. Never to the point when I begun to wonder if it would ever end, but I felt myself getting a bit antsy.

It's an amazing cast and a very, very good director. Anything but a putrid script and they could have churned out something watchable but it's pretty brilliant. Heath Ledger carries the movie and certainly steals the show from Bale's Batman. This is a pretty good legacy to leave behind for Ledger.

i couldn't resist NOT going to see it thursday night/friday morning at midnight..i kinda always thought heath was a hell of an actor, but this by far was the best acting performance from him. Heath was one hell of a joker and it makes his death sting a bit more.

Just got back from a 10pm IMAX showing. Totally worth it for Ledger alone. I am a huge "Joker" fan and he NAILED my personal image of what the Joker was always supposed to be. Even Nicholson made him too much of a caricature although I enjoyed that performance as well. Agreed on it dragging at points and on the feel that they really sort of mashed in the Two-face story arc. Maybe should have left that for another flick.

I still don't really like Bale's Batman. It never stopped feeling like he was trying to hard. Even with people who knew who he was....why did he keep using that voice?

On a technical note, those parts that were filmed directly in IMAX format were very nicely slotted into the rest of the movie.

When I left the theater at 1am there were people camping out for the Sunday morning shows. Good thing we have mild summer nights here in SoCal!

Go see it, if you like Batman comics at all. Well worth it.

loved it...great to see Bruce Wayne really develop into the character he's supposed to be. I need to see it again to listen to the Joker's dialogue. I thought he was about as sinister as it gets for any villain. Christopher Nolan is the man.

I'd like to see him write a script for the Penguin. It would be really interesting to see how he could present him. For the final movie, he needs to bring in Bane. Not the retarded Bane character in the other movie, but the actual Bane that toys with Bruce Wayne's mental stability.

Who's to say they wont? I dont think he's dead yet

Just got back from a 10:30 showing, and the place was 3/4 full for that showing but when I left the lobby was packed with people.

The movie was awesome. Like other people have said, this is the joker that I expect to see, he doesn't care about money, or anything else other than ruling gotham and seeing the city fall into total chaos. The two face part was done well overall, and I hope /think that he isn't really dead. Batman/Gorden could have had some sort of a plot where they are hiding him and want to make sure that the image that the city has of him sticks so that the city has a "ray of light". I like how in the end Batman is once again on his own and feared/not liked by the city.

One other thing that was minor that I really felt added stuff to the story, was the scarwcrow being caught again at the beginning. To me it really plays into the idea of the need for batman all the time, as the criminals escape and are still running around gotham. It's one of the reasons that I am happy they didn't kill off the joker, because in your head you know he is going to be free and running around gotham again at some point, even if you never see it again in another movie,

I am watching, on tv, "batman and robin." I haven't seen it, or quite a few of the inbetween flicks. Gotta say, 6 minutes into it, two things.

1. My governor couldn't act his way out of a paper bag if it was untied and thrown in the river with him inside. Why do people keep giving his parts?

2. If, by saying the "Dark Knight" was going to be more "realistic" they meant not as ...caricature and hearkening back to the "biff! bam! boom" days of Batman then yes, they did that. No wonder I didn't trouble myself with the movies after Keaton.

Bingo. And the Joker isnt dead either. Of course what are they gonna do about that, being without Ledger and all. I am looking forward to the next one, but I will watch this one about 400 times before thinking about that

I am also watching it on TNT right now. It's a terrible movie. lol. I really don't think you can bring back The Joker for the next one. I think you need to leave it where it is. Except I just don't know what villain they are going to do for the next one.

Why the fuck would you do that? You couldn't find any toothpicks to jam into your pupils?

I threw out our box of toothpicks just last week. I usually like Uma Thurman and I always enjoyed "Poison Ivy" but this movie BLOW WHALE CHUNKS. "You get the ice, I will get the Iceman." That's not a script, that's a stand up bit from Shecky Greene!
