Wall-E actually got a 97%. But, since it's a Disney movie, it's not hard for them to get high reviews.

The movie deserved the rating, I don't think Disney had anything to do with the rating.

The previews before the Dark Knight were excellent as well.. Watchmen and The Spirit = good times ahead.

DC now looks like geniuses when it comes to making movies. It's pretty weird. Marvel has been coming out with tons of movies this decade, but DC certainly has the highest quality one. Add on The Spirit and Watchmen, two DC comics properties, and then they all of a sudden look very good. Even DC's biggest bust this decade, Superman Returns, wasn't as bad as Elektra, Daredevil, or Hulk.

Marvel has been very successful in their movies, I don't think you can honestly say DC has done a better job. Particularly the Spiderman and X Men series have been very good. And Iron Man was a big hit.

I fear for the Watchman movie. It is directed by the same guy that did "300" and while it was fun it wasn't...........earth shattering. Watchmen is a fave comic of mine. Constantine disappointed me, again, fave comic. SinCity was a-fucking-mazing. The Xmen, another fave, were good but as usual, Hollywood went to far with sequels. I didn't bother to watch Hulk, Electra, Daredevil, Ironman, etc. Not my kind of characters mostly.

Agree on all points except I was suprised how entertaining Ironman was. Not a big Robert Downey jr. fan and I didn't know much about the comic, but it was one of those superhero movies that wasn't cartoon-ish or highly predictable. All Qualities I saw in The Dark Knight this afternoon.

I'll throw in my praise for Iron Man as well.. Hulk was disappointing, Electra and Daredevil were garbage. But give Iron Man a shot.

I liked what I saw from the Watchmen preview. Looks like another cool visual movie from Snyder. Hopefully there's a little more to it than 300, though.

I've got a friend that is a huge Ironman fan. He swears by the movie. I will catch it at some point. I have a huge issue with going to the theatre to watch movies anymore. I don't like rude crowds, the smell of movie popcorn makes me pukey and the cost is terrible. But I love IMAX and put up with it for movies on that big damn screen. I also love "kids" animated movies but I HATE HATE HATE a theater full of kids.

Otherwise, I have a huge tv at home that works just as well. I will rent Ironman when it comes out for sure.

Once again agree on all points. There are only a handful of movies I will suffer through the Cinema for, unless shoegirl overrides my veto; which she did for Ironman with positive results.

Never made it to a Hollywood movie viewing at the IMax though. I'll have to make a point to look into it.

IMAX is another reason I'm looking forward to Dark Knight Saturday. Instead of being converted to the format, it was filmed in it. Should make it very interesting. March of the Penguins was great on it, and Happy Feet on IMAX made me smile for weeks afterwards.

Both scores are absurd, so either the movie really is that good, or all the pissy snobs that don't like comic book movies haven't trashed it yet.

They do such a nice job of sticking to the comics, but in such a realistic way, I dont know how much complaining can be done. I am a big fan of the batman comics, especially the killing joke, which portrays the joker in the way that Ledger played it. Not that gay purple suit wearing dude with trick flowers and such, but just completely messed up, ruthless, and loves to blow shit up. I like the Ninja batman, not the colorful happy-go-lucky version that Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney played. Course it's all opinion, but that is my 2 cents, or 2 dollars, since it's coming from me

Lay off Michael Keaton. He didn't play the character in that fashion. He was more tortured hero with pain of parent's death in Movie 1, and just cool-and-doesn't-talk-much Batman in Movie 2 (His Bruce Wayne role was more prominent in that one). In fact, George Clooney has said in an interview that if one of the old actors who portrayed Batman would be offered a role to play an older Batman, the movie would be better off with Keaton.

Dark Knight best movie of the summer/year BY FAR...and probably up there in my top 10...maybe top 5 because of Ledger. I kept hearing the hype, and how Ledger makes the movie and the same stuff everyone else heard. And while I figured it would be a good movie, I doubted it would leave me saying "wow, that lived up to the hype."

saw it thursday midnight opening. Bought my tickets the day before and luckily I did because we had 5 screenings sold out. Left the theater saying WOW. It lived up to the hype.

ledger as joker is easily the best villain in a movie to date IMO. Prior to the movie we'd hear that perhaps it was this role that caused his death...with nightmares and sleeping disorders leading to an accidental overdose on medication. I never really considered that to be a valid reason myself...but now im not so sure. Thats how creepy and evil his character really is.
