Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

I haven't followed very closely this year. But in a way wouldn't it be better to finish 4th? I would think playing Ottawa (or Montrael) wouldn't be as tough as playing Pittsburgh first rd

They can gun for first now. Only 1 point behind Wash/Pitt with 68 games played for all. The rangers are 4 points off of CBJ with 2 more games played.

The 2 games left vs the Capitals and the one left against Pittsburgh are going to be big to say the least.

1st would obviously be best choice. But if they can't get there, i'm just thinking 4th would be 2nd best option

Even though it would be really awesome to be able to knock Pitt out of playoffs

Legend. Never been a fan of any of his teams, but I respect a legend when I see one.

Yep. And still one of the better players on their team, at least last night.

He's got to be a legend --- One of the very few sports names my wife knew before she met me.

Dude was skating at 3/4 the speed of everyone else and still getting into great positions. His redirect effort in the first period was nasty.

On a side note, Oliver Bjorkstrand is a future superstar. He didn't get any points last night, but that kid was all over the place, making great passes, and creating some great opportunities.

with 96 points, it would take an epic historical collapse to not make the playoffs couple with two very mediocre teams - the Islanders and the Lightning - running the table.

CBJ - 96 points with 13 to play
Isles - 77 points with 12 to play
Lightning - 77 points with 12 to play

Basically win their next three (@NJ, @NYI, vs. Toronto) and they are in.

Any combination of 4 points (win win loss, win OTL OTL, etc) and 1 non-OT loss by either team puts the Blue Jackets in the playoffs.

They are currently the hottest team in the East. They are making a legitimate run at the President's Trophy.

One of the scoreboards had him at 8 SOG midway through the 3rd last night.

Definitely weird. Only the 3rd time in NHL history a team has scored two penalty shot goals in the same game.

Playoff spot clinched. Back into a tie with the Caps for the league lead, although WSH has the tie-breaker, so they'd still be stuck at #2.
