Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Tough 1-0 OT loss. Just could not get one in the net.

Questionable penalty gave Montreal a PP in OT where they scored

Make-up call for the reviewed play that stood as No Goal? Looked like it probably should have been a goal to me, the goal's mooring came up a bit, but never dislodged.

I will also add that Max Pacioretty is to the NHL what LeBron is to the NBA.... when it comes to begging for calls. Holy fuck is he annoying.

It probably should had been a goal. The fact thst it stood probably says the replay officials werent too sure on it.The theatrical reaction by Montreal was pretty funny though.

The Stevie Wonder "I Love You" song had me cracking up. Made me miss Dayton Bombers games. The PA guy always had the right song to play at the Nutter Center.

TSN gave the CBJ decent marks for the Quincey trade:

The Blue Jackets Get: D Kyle Quincey

Quincey is a steady 31-year-old veteran blueliner, who should be a fine third-pair addition for the Blue Jackets. He doesn’t score a bunch, but tends to keep the play moving the right way.

Making $1.25-million this season, Quincey will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer. He figures to come in and play third-pair minutes for the Blue Jackets and is probably a little more reliable than rookie Markus Nutivaara for that role.

Verdict: The Blue Jackets are headed to the playoffs and have shored up their defence corps with the addition of Quincey; an entirely reasonable strategy from their side. At the same time, Quincey is a pending free agent, so it makes lots of sense for the Devils to add another blueline asset, in the hopes that Prout can establish himself as an NHL regular.

And they save on Prout's contract for next year.

I think some people were for whatever reason expecting them to make a huge trade, which was not going to happen by all accounts.

They are decent trades for what they are, we really did not give up much, we get some needed veteran depth and they are both free agents at the end of the season
