Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Not that this has anything to do with the CBJ, but I'm watching a Florida Panthers game on the DirecTV free preview this week and the picture quality is literally that of a mid-80s Minor league baseball game.

Holy shit it's hard on the eyes.

Was it the same one with just the official time in the lower right corner with no scoreboard at all ? I was watching that same game and despite all the fallacies of the broadcast, I quite enjoyed it. The sound was awful, the announcer (supposedly a Panthers guy) was getting just as excited when the Senators were scoring left and right (game ended 6-2 Ottawa) as when the Panthers were.

My favorite part had to be when there was a fight late in the third, the screen was displaying an ad for Party City for the entire duration as the announcer was giving you a punch-by-punch description without you even seeing a second of it.

A middle school video class could put together something better then that broadcast, but I absolutely loved it.

I love how NOW the guys are skating around and looking like a tough out.

Now that the opportunity for them to actually get out of Columbus is there they all want to take advantage of it.

It's unreal to me that Howson is still where he is. The architect of this disaster is going to be in charge of rebuilding it.

Simply incredible. The NHL must be staring at us in awe and wonder.

Public Enemy #1 of Columbus Hockey.

Up until I watched that video I was ok with trading Rick Nash. Now I know that Columbus hockey loses a great player who WANTED to be here because management couldn't find their ass with both hands and a map.

Here is Dispatch article on the trade.

I still think we could've got something better out of it. I don't want us to keep going for draft picks and development players...those things get us no where. How many of the draft picks and development players we've taken over the years actually turn out to be something? I want to see some immediate impact players.

I do understand this was more of a cap move then anything else, but draft picks are not going to help this team get better. We just traded away a support guy for basically nothing.
