Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

There's a rumor floating around that Carter has asked for a trade.

I hate that he's a bitch (I've always disliked the guy, but some of that disappeared into the back of my skull when he was traded). But this could actually help the Jackets. They could almost certainly upgrade D and goaltending by trading a player of his caliber. Boston seems like a nice fit. LA has some nice pieces too, but I'm not sure how much they need Carter. He'd be nice on the wing.

maybe the team would be a little bit better if he held up his end of the bargain.......1 goal and 3 assists in 9 games....hardly spectacular

In 2000 the NHL had 2 expansion teams:

1) the Minnesota Wild is currently leading the NHL with a 12-5-3 record (27 points)

2) the Columbus Blue Jackets are currently in last place in the NHL with a 4-13-2 record (10 points)

Seriously, what did the Wild do that the Blue Jackets didn't do?

:(

1) Minnesota is more of a hockey state.
2) Better management
3) Better coaching
4) Better drafting strategy
5) Ohio is cursed... I'm convinced.

I'm getting a Sanford sweater.

Beating Nashville is always sweet.

They actually looked respectable last night. They still suck, but maybe they can start sucking less?

I fucking hate Trashville.

But eventually you'll end up hating Sanford as well. Unless he's going to go through a Chris Osgood-esque career elevation, he's more or less Steve Mason with more movement in the crease.

WTF is going at Nationwide. Jackets up 2-0 less than 7 minutes in and Vermette just scored a Nash-esque goal with his stick between his own legs.

It's amazing how different this team looks with someone other than Mason in net. It was the same way with Garon last year. Time to admit the extension was stupid and trade him for anything.

Yep. Sanford doesn't have to be Hasek, he just has to be in net to stop the easy ones. God, Mason has been so bad it's sickening.

5 points in 3 games. Only 4 points out of 14th.

WOOT. If we don't lose another game in regulation until February, we'll be right back in it...

I actually could see them winning their next 3 games before they go to Vancouver and be knocking at 20-24 points by the end of the road trip.

The bottom 1/3rd of the west sucks this year. If Sanford is able to play regularly, they'll be just good enough to ruin their draft position yet again.

It would be awfully nice if they could find a way to win a shootout. 0-3 this season. And have to win those games where they thoroughly outplay the opponent.

But up 1-0 on the Sabres and outshooting them 10-2.
