Top 4 get in out of Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, Minnesota, Nashville, St. Louis, and Winnipeg?

I don't mind that at all...

look at the top four in the current western conference. now how do you feel?

Dallas has come out of nowhere this year....

Minny made some moves to be better and probably mortgaged the future for now.

Eventually Trashville will fall off

Chicago has only been good since 2008. Before that they were bad for 16 years.

St. Louis hasn't been relevant since 2001.

Winnipeg was Atlanta last year. Atlanta sucked last year and Winnipeg isn't much better this year.

Really the only two teams that have had consistent success since the BJs have been in the NHL are Dallas and Detroit and eventually that has to end. The Big thing is having the travel go away and you will get to feast on some of the bad East teams more with the home and homes.

This is still the best thing that could have happened for the CBJ - they weren't getting into the East over Detroit had there just been a team swap.

If they play defense the rest of the games like they did tonight, they won't make the playoffs but they'll make life tough for teams like St. Louis and Trashville down the stretch when they need the points.

Yeah that means Columbus has "being a tough win" to look forward too as a season goal. And it's 2 weeks short of Christmas too. Awesome.
