How can a hockey season go south by the end of fucking October.

Only the Blue Jackets could pull this off.

I still can't believe how excited I was for hockey season to start.eh

On a side note, the inexcusable inconsistencies continue with regard to discipline in the NHL.

Shea Weber blasts Vancouver's Jannik Hansen into the boards from behind and gets $2500 fine but no missed games.

Wiz continues to sit for a harmless shot on dickhead Cal Clutterbuck (who also should have been fined for the way he played in that game).

Not going to blame this one on Mason.

Kris Russell should not be wearing an NHL sweater. He stinks. Tyutin isn't far behind

This team may not win 15 games this season after that one. Unreal. They had it won. They had a power play to end the game and Russell shits the bed.

This is hands down the worst team in the league.

Jeff Carter has to be piping hot about that trade now. Nothing can help this team at this point. They aren't tough enough to rebound from this. No way. NO leadership in the room and no talent on the ice.

I can't believe what I just saw.:bonk:

If Arniel isn't fired tomorrow, I'll not be attending any games until he is. I'm considering saying the same for Howson. You can't just expect to be better when you only have one top 4 defenseman, and he hasn't even played a regular season game for your team yet.

If Hasek is your goalie, maybe.. but Mason is not Hasek.

I like Arniel, but it certainly seems like the players just aren't responding.

Bring Hitch in? Fire Arniel and Howson and bring Hitch in and see what happens? Hitchcock is still on the payroll right? I can't believe what I just saw.

Christ almighty I never thought they'd be in this position after two fucking weeks. The season is in the shitter after 8 games.

This is surreal. I've never seen anything like it.

Thia team is not bad, it is not epic bad...it is historically bad. With a game against Detroit and 2 more roadies, they will likely be 0-10-1 heading onto playing whoever the fuck is next. They may not win 20, and they may not even reach 45 points. This might be the worst organization in all of professional sports, which is really saying something.

I can't believe everyone keeps sticking up for Mason. He had a great rookie year, but he isn't that same goalie, and obviously never will be. Has the rest of the team been great this year, no? But they have been very good a few games, and okay a couple more...but Mason has had ZERO good games. It doesn't matter what is going on in front of him.

Defend the guy all you want, but he is awful. Maybe we can trade with the Jets...Chris Mason for Steve Mason. I'm game.

With an average goalie, this team is now 3-4-1.

Mason LOSES us games. We need a goalie that wins us games, or at least makes plays.

Not necessarily defending Mason as much as blaming the awful defense just as much as the awful goaltending. They're both atrocious. Mason played well enough last night to win that game. The defense blew it. I don't remember the last time the defense had a good game. It hasn't happened for a very long time. Mason at least has the occasional good game (not this season).

Mason deflates the defense. No defense in the NHL is immune to ever turning the puck over or preventing every shot. But it sure helps you when you goalie sparks your team with a great save...not deflates you by watching the puck go between his legs. Why the HELL did we let Garon get away? We should have signed the guy for every penny he wanted!

All I know is that the last time Mason looked good was when he had a decent defense in front of him. The Jackets made the playoffs that year. I don't think it was a coincidence. They're both awful. Mason doesn't deserve all the blame because the defense is the worst group of d in the league and has been for a couple years. The GM should've addressed it better.

There's no deflating a defense that has Russell playing significant minutes. There is nothing to deflate. He might be the worst defenseman I have ever seen. Christian Backman was better.
