What posses someone to ride in the middle of the street on Olentangy River Road or High Street during the day? I'm not sure there's a big group of self absorbed jack asses in the American than these folks.

There are groups of particularly aggressive young riders who do shit like that! It's a very anti-biking approach. Like bands of Jap bike riders taking lanes and doing stunts.
Stupid!
If they survive, they become saner, safer riders.
I have no sympathy for them!
They get run over, tuff titties!

My philosophy is "Live to Bike Another Day!" :biggrin:

Actually... one day I was headed East on West NorthBroadway... when turning south onto Olentangy River Road (it is a curved turned) I was head on with a dude in an electric wheelchair, in the middle of the effin road heading right for me... I had to swerve up on the sidewalk to avoid hitting him... UGH!

As a cyclist may I say FUCK YOU. I pay for the roads just like you do. If you don't like it, get on the fucking highway assholes. I have had shit thrown at me, been slugged, had doors opened, and had people try to kill me litterally. So before you all think that you are so tough and important behind the wheel of your cars, BIKES HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS AS CARS. Don't like it, write congress. Anyone want to tell me I should not be there, we can discuss in person if you like.


And Tao, can you be a bigger hypocrite??? You rant all fucking day about save the earth and you pimp bikes? If you don't walk the walk just shut the fuck up (half kidding). Just lost some respect there bro.

I have been spit on. Attacked by dogs in the back of trucks. Hand little kids and adults scream at me to try and make me wreck. Been forced off the road.
I'm too old to deal with those agro-racer nutjobs! I'll stay out of heavy traffic, not race at 30-40 miles an hour and................

Toas, must have mis-read your post. If I did I am sorry.

I know what I am in for, I will not bitch when I get hit. But I will pull people out of the car if they fuck with me intentionally. I have done it several times. Threw one dude right over the trunk of his car and jacked him in the nose. Took an entire handfull of chest hair from some other pussy that did not want to talk about why he tried to kill me.

The country roads I used to ride are now 45 mph to the suburbs. There is no place to go. I have the same rights. If it is an accedent and I die, so be it. But the attitude I read above smacks of the shit I deal with every day.

Before you tell me to go on the bike path, I average 25mph for a 56 mile time trial. I would kill about three kids in that distance.

Believe me I try to stay out of the way. But you HAVE to take a lane or you will be run off the road. I HAVE to be agreesive or I will get killed by the fucking red necks.
