Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

So you would rather beat a weak scUM than a strong one? How on earth does that make any sense considering the benefit in national perception of a strong B1G conference?
Fuck them. They don't deserve to get any better. Let another team step up. Wiscy is on the right path. Kill has Minny on an upswing. Maybe Riley brings in a killer staff and makes corn a little better. Ohio State will never have to worry about perception. Just take care of business. Perception hasn't hurt FSU the last two years as they've played in an arguably weaker conference than the B1G. I hope scUM goes 5-7 forever.

I want a strong scUM....makes the conference better and makes it sweeter when we hand them a loss. Can't understand folks that wanted Hoke retained and want a weak coach as a follow up.

Pretty simple really.

Better scUM = better chance OSU loses to scUM

I cant understand folks who cheer for any scenario where that's more likely but to each his own.

This.

100% this.

People equating "good scUM" to "good for OSU" are operating from a logical fallacy.

Exactly. The notion that TTUN being good for us is one of the most ignorant thoughts placed on this board.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it ignorant but I don't agree with it.

People don't like change, most people grew up for many years with scUM being good. I can understand why that would affect opinions but like I said, I don't agree with the logic.

Good TTUN means greater chance we lose to them....as you noted. In addition good TTUN translates into them taking the occasional top Ohio kid. We saw a lot of it for 2 decades. Theres simply no way them being good benefited us. Never.

I really don't understand this with me being a Michigan fan. Harbaugh isn't coming here but let's pretend that he becomes Michigan coach. Do you really think you guys are going run 5,6, or 7 games in a row against us? I'm not saying that we would dominate you guys at all. If anything, it would probably be very even over the timeline. Anyways.......you guys would have to kick, claw, bite, struggle, and play at your best to beat us. Right now all you guys have to do is show up. I bet you would change your mind if you guys were 11-0 playing Michigan at the Shoe and Harbaugh comes in and leaves with a win ripping your hearts out. I can understand wanting a challenge. However, that challenge could end up haunting you. Just sayin..

That's pretty much why people disagree with him. Instead of winning 9/10 games against a crappy michigan team, he'd rather beat them, let's say, 6/10 times. I don't get it, but whatevs.

This whole wanting TTUN strong thing is borderline offensive. I was born in the 60s, lived through the struggles of the 70s...and then came the 80s and 90s...most of you ARE old enough to remember and as such, should know that it took Tress 10 freaking years of pure wrecking ball- the likes of which may be hard to duplicate- to undo the damage. And now someone wants to enable TTUN to attempt some sort of comeback?? NO WAY. We should NEVER let them get up again. Ever.
