Washington isn't a king but they're a solid prince. That being said in conferences with two kings you almost never see them both dominant at the same time. Given the flight from 'Cali into the PNW they have as much upside as any team outside of the 8-9 kings.

This. While USC is obviously BY FAR the dominant program in the PAC over the long-term, UW is clearly #2. People think UCLA, but they're wrong.

Very strange hire. I agree that they'll probably regret it in a few years. USC WANTS to be a perennial top-5 program, yet their coaching hires seem lackluster. Perhaps it will work out.

I hope USC continuing to go to the "Cheaty Pete" well for former assistants works well for them...as well as their last hire, anyway

Stanford was largely dormant with only an every once in a while good year from the early 70s until Harbaugh built what we are seeing now. This is the best stretch Stanford has had since the 1920s/1930s and Pop Warner.

I think Durkin will be their first call.

I don't know why, but I kind of wish Glen Mason would try coaching again at a lower level (like the MAC).

Police Arrest Prankster Who Offered Tony Dungy The USC Job

When last we met Ken Tarr, he was riding high off the Dungy-to-USC prank and planned on offering Will Muschamp a middling position at a middling program just to "see if he gets insulted or not." Now he's in a Los Angeles jail, on suspicion of felony eavesdropping.

Tarr was booked Monday morning following a two-month LAPD investigation for allegedly recording phone conversations he had with coaches without their consent, which is illegal in California and in the specific case of the Dungy prank, "led to confusion and denials from both USC and Dungy."

Dantonio's not going anywhere but I think he would be a great fit for Texas. Not known as a great recruiter but he wouldn't have to try hard at Texas. Three 11 win seasons with sub par recruiting classes in a BCS conference.
