Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

I think the Florida roots work. The kids arent coming from Oregon. I'm not sure how dynamic of a recruiter even Chip was. So if Willie can get their ear, combined with Nike and Pac-12 football, he should be able to utilize it.
Idk how many FL kids you'll get to Eugene, OR. Kelly was able to recruit Cali very well as his base and also WA. It'll be hard to that now with all the CA schools staying good and now both WA schools are on the rise. Taggert has his work cut out for him

Yes, they also pulled quality from Texas with Chip (with a little assistance). I think it's a new day and age, just look at our class. If Taggert's relationships are strong enough, it should pay off.

I agree - the 'outsiders' don't often mesh well with boards, etc.

Also - more I think about it, more I feel there must be something bad coming up in the background checks on PJ Fleck. Guy isn't even making it to the interview stages for most of these jobs and we are talking about names like Blake Anderson before PJ? There are reports Oregon never even brought him in to talk....something just isn't adding up, I'm gonna guess there is a skeleton somewhere in that closet.
This is purely internet rumor, but I've read that there are some issues with the way his first marriage ended ( he admitted to stepping out on wife #1) and that he still runs around on #2. As I said, purely rumor and innuendo, but it's out there.

He is a grad, and he's been in the Philadelphia area the last few years, so he should be intimately familiar with the INSANE DELUSION that permeates the entire fan base.

If he has success at Baylor (which I think he will with the amount of talent around him and his abilities) and leaves to come back to a program that will never live up to it's feigned historical expectations then he's just as delusional...

Just my own opinion.

Yeah, but most of the former players are some of the hardest of the hard core cultists. I'm sure he has no problems with the "Paterno People" as well as buys fully into the delusions. Anyone know if he's signed the numerous "letterman" petitions to restore Joesus?

I don't understand why you don't like this. Kiffin has been a great OC for both USC and 'Bama. It's not like LSU's hiring him as the HC.

both of those schools were doing basically the same thing prior Kiffin as OC.
conference champs, national champs, heisman winners, etc.
in fact Kiffin's last year at USC (as OC) was one of the lowest scoring teams of the Pete Carrol era.

Kiffin without hose two top tier coaches calling the shots hasn't been anything you would brag about.

And I thought only Sark had a drinking problem. Does Kiffin?

i was referring to our drunken fanbase.

That was my gut, but who knows it could be way off but that would be something any board would stay away from....I could definitely see something along those lines that would upset the almighty moral clauses!

I wasn't following USC at that time, so I can't comment on this, but Kiffin is getting paid $1.4M by Satan, who regardless of being the recipient of my eternal hate, I respect for his results at 'Bama. Bama's offense is different now from what it was during the pre-Kiffin era. Kiffin was hired just to change the offense, to "go faster" when Satan's move to slow down the game to suit his defense was rebuffed by the NCAA.

I am not arguing that you fall in love with Kiffin. Not even that he will have the success at LSU that he had at Bama or USC, but maybe a little slack?
