Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

I don't believe - I just think the idea of 'promoting' coordinators at programs that are above average typically end up being horrible....WVU after Rich Rod could have had a big hire and they kept old man Stewart, Oregon keeing Helfrich, etc.
yeah... definitely agree with you there.. but I remember Orlando being kinda a hot name for DC after last year

Keep in mind that Brian Knorr is already employed as a quality control assistant and worked previously as a linebackers coach and defensive coordinator. I could very easily see Urban promoting him to LB coach.

It's going to be tough to pull a "big name" with Schiano already on staff. Obviously the situation changes if Schiano leaves after this season.

Likely because of the stink of Tejas... dude will be great at USF, he and Tejas was just not a fit

Yeah but as it was talked about heavily, the boosters run Texas and they didn't like him from day 1. Besides, it's not like he needed a reset back to a coordinator role. He just needs to go to a smaller school and make waves until another big opportunity comes along.

Edit: A guy like Kiffin that had a string of bad HC gigs needs to step back for a bit. Strong just went to a bad fit. Much like Rich Rod at scUM.

Rutgers offensive coordinator, and Tom Herman protege, Drew Mehringer is headed to Texas reports Pete Thamel. Mehringer spent the 2015 season with Herman at UH and was with him 2012-13 at Ohio State, and at Iowa State and Rice as well. Thamel adds Mehringer will have pass game coordinator title

The Scoop

Tough break for Ash, good pickup for Herman, if this plays out.
