Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

Looks like it is Rhule

Much, much better hire than Anderson IMO. I think Baylor got lucky and fell into a great coach.

I totally agree. The one plus (in my mind) with Penn St having such a good year was the quieting of the racist shitbirds in Central PA calling for JF's job. Had JF had another year below this delusional fanbase's expectations, they may have moved on from him and gone hard after MR, who in my opinion can really coach.

Penn St won't repeat in fulfilling expectations (Preseason 17 top 10 likely) the years following and MR will be long gone. It will be glorious...

Isn't Ruhle a Penn State grad or something? Not that I wouldn't enjoy your scenario, but leaving Baylor for Penn State isn't a far fetched scenario.

He is a grad, and he's been in the Philadelphia area the last few years, so he should be intimately familiar with the INSANE DELUSION that permeates the entire fan base.

If he has success at Baylor (which I think he will with the amount of talent around him and his abilities) and leaves to come back to a program that will never live up to it's feigned historical expectations then he's just as delusional...

Just my own opinion.

He'd leave Baylor in a heartbeat.

Baylor is on life support, will be a tough job. Sounds like they have one commitment so far in this class.

First football coach Oregon has hired from outside the program since 1977. Has some Pac-12 experience from time at Stanford as RB coach.

Also, this would seem to indicate Fleck could be staying at WMU for another season.

I figured that Fleck and Taggert would be equal when it comes to name recognition(though Fleck doesn't have West coast experience)... Wonder if Uncle Phil will cough up $10m for Taggert

Taggart is an interesting hire.....I think he's a very good coach, but also think he has always relied heavily on his FL roots both at WKU and USF.

Oregon is a different beast altogether but an interesting case of good coach versus not ideal situation, what will win out?

we've seen it before in other cases.... 9 out of 10... coaches lose their jobs because of it.

I agree - the 'outsiders' don't often mesh well with boards, etc.

Also - more I think about it, more I feel there must be something bad coming up in the background checks on PJ Fleck. Guy isn't even making it to the interview stages for most of these jobs and we are talking about names like Blake Anderson before PJ? There are reports Oregon never even brought him in to talk....something just isn't adding up, I'm gonna guess there is a skeleton somewhere in that closet.

Hmmmmm. They start off with McSorley as a soph at QB. Could be the best passing QB in the Big Ten, they get a final year out of Sasquatch at RB, arguably the best running back in the Big Ten. Their recruiting has really picked up. I think they remain a handfull and they get Michigan at home this year.

I think the Florida roots work. The kids arent coming from Oregon. I'm not sure how dynamic of a recruiter even Chip was. So if Willie can get their ear, combined with Nike and Pac-12 football, he should be able to utilize it.
