Yeah, hard pass on Darvish. He's been pitching like shit.

I kind of understand them standing pat. I don't think there was a whole lot available, at least anybody that would make a real difference.

If Santana keeps pitching in the vicinity of his first two starts, that's essentially a deadline pick-up right there. I don't know if he will, but his first two starts were encouraging.

And again, I get not selling the farm to get what would likely be a marginal improvement this year. This team has a young core to build around and remain competitive for a few years, and it makes more sense to keep the system stocked with guys to supplement them as guys like EE, Kipnis, Santana age out/leave in free agency. Anything involving Mejia should have been a non-starter, because he will soon be a big upgrade over the Gomes/Perez gaggle fuck behind the plate.

As for this year, hold off the Royals, and just get to October. From there, hopefully they're healthy and can find a little magic again. If we go in with a healthy Kluber/Cookie and a reasonable facsimile of the Salazar we've seen these last two starts, they should be in good shape.

Still shitty.

Still [Mark May]ty.

The farm system is pretty strong and well balanced, i'd definitely rather keep it stocked than take flyers on guys like Darvish or Zach Britton (injury problems this year seem to be lingering) sometimes making no moves is better than making a stupid move that bites you in the ass in the end.

Tonights opposing pitcher is Doug Fister, who rocks a 0-5 record, 7.46 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and hitters are hitting .309 off of him. Guessing 1 run on 4 hits or something like that.
Ok, Swami. Can I get this week's lotto numbers?

Fister goes 7.2 innings, 2 runs, 5 hits, 5 Ks. Zimmer's 2-run home run in the top of the 8th spoiled the shut out. Tribe down 6-2.

On beyond shitty.
