Kluber could be headed to the DL. He's been a mixed bag although it figures he'd be on the hill when Cabrera comes off the DL. Maybe a couple of weeks of rest would do him well at this point. Seems like whenever a starter struggles this year the offense responds by putting up one run (or two in the case of last night). Silver lining is the bullpen was stellar last night...Armstrong (just recalled after Jackson went on the DL), Goody and Logan combine for 5 innings, no hits, two walks and 6 Ks.

Still shitty.

DETROIT -- The Indians put Corey Kluber, their top starting pitcher, on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday and recalled right-hander Joe Colon from Class AAA Columbus.

The addition of Colon gives the Indians a nine-man bullpen, but they will need a starter for Sunday in Kansas City when Kluber's spot in the rotation comes up. Look for right-hander Mike Clevinger to get the call.

Clevinger started Tuesday for Columbus so he would be in line to make that start.

Kluber left Tuesday night's game against Detroit after three innings with lower back stiffness. After the game manager Terry Francona and Kluber said he's been dealing with back issues for an extended period of time.

if the tribe ends up rained out today, with their off day setup, they don't even have to make a move in the rotation. they can just skip kluber's start. but yes, that bullpen has been amazing thus far, and has saved them from some otherwise less than stellar starting pitching.

but a healthy kluber, carrasco, and salazar plus that bullpen is pretty menacing in the post season.

The games already been postponed, so it works out perfectly

I still wouldn't mind seeing Clevinger up here for a start. He's looked great in Columbus and a little extra rest can't hurt Kluber's multiple ailments.

I don't think it would be the worst idea. they would only be skipping one of kluber's starts and he'd ultimately get about 2 weeks to see how he's recovering, and if he needs to go on the DL for an extended stretch.
