Meanwhile back in Cleveland.....

The Indians manage just one run and three hits in a 2-1 loss to the White Sox, arguably the worst team in MLB. Probably the Tribe's worst performance of the year. Way to get playoff ready. SMH

Corey Kluber finishes the 2017 season with a WHIP of 0.8691, the 10th best single-season WHIP of the modern era (1920 to date).

The single-season record for WHIP is 0.7373, set by Pedro Martinez in the 2000 season.

Kluber's career WHIP is 1.0862, the 15th best of all time, and 5th best amongst starting pitchers in the modern era, behind Clayton Kershaw (1.0016); Chris Sale (1.0496); Pedro Martinez (1.0544); and Stephen Strasburg (1.0812).

My guess is he'll be on a 50 pitch count or so... so, most likely not much more.

I don't understand this whole [Mark May] with him, Tomlin and Sunshine in light of the Allen issues. Personally, I think they'd have been better off getting Salazar one inning every other day (as much as possible) and tell him, throw the fast ball and change and nothing else and pound the strike zone and see how he does getting 3 outs. And I guess this and the last "start" are just long relief auditions but... cut his dumb ass down to the 2 pitches he can throw for strikes - and are in fact plus pitches - and see how he looks. How many long guys do you need, we're already wasting Clevinger there... (if Tomlin is actually starting game 4... and I don't want that clown facing the Twins or the Yankees (especially in Yankee stadium)

Personally, I go:

Bauer
Kluber
Carrasco
Clevinger
Kluber

Either way, Olson better eat his wheaties, and if they're gonna have a zillion multi inning guys, I'd think about using McFastball as a Righty matchup guy and see if you can piece a late inning or two out of that pair.

ALDS starting rotation has been announced:

Game 1 - Bauer
Game 2 - Kluber
Game 3 - Carrasco
Game 4 (if necessary) - Tomlin
Game 5 (if necessary) - Kluber

Why Tomlin? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

Not sure I get starting Bauer in game 1

seems like a good way to get down 0-1

Though the Yankees are sending out Severino tonight.....which means Tanaka or Sabathia in game 1 if they win, neither have been particularly scary this year.

The Twins would probably send Berrios, who's better this year than the 2 above. He went 7 2/3 allowing 1 run in his 1 start vs the Indians this year.
