I do not understand the love fest between Francona and Brantley not to mention Kipnis. I mean this team has won quite a few games without these guys and I simply do not understand why Francona wants to mess with something that is going quite well. I mean the Indians never won 22 straight games with Brantley and Kippy in the lineup so why the big push to get them in for the postseason.

Well, Zimmer and Guyer are currently toast, and who the frick knows if Chis is going to get better for real. Long story short, Tito doesn't want to have to go to battle with any of Almonte, Allen or Naquin if he can avoid it.

While I can't really say I'm enamored with Kippy in center... it clearly gives Tito the option to keep Ramirez at 2nd and a Gio/Yandy Platoon at 3rd. Which, if you look at the games since roster expansion, he likes better than at least Almonte and Naquin.

I mean, there's trash, then there's trash who has their own event horizon.

While I reluctantly agree with regard to Kippy mostly because of the garbage left available, I have a hard time with his love fest with Brantley. I mean Michael might be chasing a fly ball in the postseason and his ankles might give out on him. I cannot even remember the last time that I saw him running. Oh, I do like Allen as a late inning replacement for the Kip.

I'd honestly rather have Allen out there than Naquin or Almonte. He's better defensively and has a better chance getting on base than those 2 (via speed) Doubtful that Allen is on the postseason roster though, though I could be pleasantly wrong.

The way that Francona loves late inning defense, I would not totally rule it out but going from AA to a post season roster is a big jump to state the obvious.
