That's the wildcard. Kyrie has been banged up each season, but hopefully no longer needing to be the catalyst for the offense will help there. Like I said, at this point, you can basically count on Verejao missing significant time. But at least you have a reasonably talented Tristan Thompson as insurance. Love missed a lot of 2010 and 2013, but those were freak hand injuries, so it doesn't look chronic.I have to be honest, injuries terrify me at this point. It's too good to be true.
Is there a reverse voodoo doll that keeps people healthy instead of cursing them?
I kind of expect these guys to stumble a bit out of the gate as they learn to play together. But, if they can stay relatively healthy, there's no reason they shouldn't run away with the east. Indiana is toast after losing Paul George on top of Stephenson leaving. Chicago is probably the biggest threat, and that's heavily based on Derrick Rose returning to his old form after playing just 49 games in three seasons with a couple of serious injuries. There's no guarantee he's anywhere near the player he was before he got hurt, and even when he was healthy, they didn't get out of the East in the post season. Adding Pau Gasol is nice, but he's not an All-Star anymore.
