Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I think it's pretty safe to say they have major depth issues. Hopefully 2-3 first round picks a year for the next few years will fix that. Sloan and Zeller look like the only non-turds on the bench, but they are surrounded by so little that their numbers are being pulled down.

Irving = clutch

Dreadful, just dreadful.

Zeller with a nice game, too with 15pts 7boards and 2 assists. Miles had 10 off the bench but again, that bench is putrid. The good thing is that Walton and Casspi were both DNP's.

At least the starters are all contributing something. Now, they'll come back next game and lose by 25.

My hopes for the Cavs this year are the same as the Browns. They don't have the pieces needed yet so getting the 8th seed in the playoffs does nothing for them in the future. I want to see good progress for the players without winning too many games so they can get another good lottery pick next summer.

The problem for the Cavs that the Browns don't have is that the Cavs have a good coach so we can't rely on coaching errors to cost us games. The other problem with the NBA is that you can't really package picks to move up to a draft pick that matters since there are usually only a handful of difference makers in every draft.

With this bench and injuries, I don't think we need to worry about qualifying for the playoffs. They have at least 2 first rounders in each of the next 3 drafts (im assuming Sac will get better by next year), and maybe more if Andy gets traded.

The 2013 draft will be weak in 1's and 2's, which they don't need. They probably won't be picking in the top 5 again, so they just need to do their homework and find a good sf, then ad bench depth. It's going to take time, but they are on the right path. It's the only way they can do it in this big market, superstar-driven league.

Oh, and fuck Dwight Howard for going to the Lakers. I'm counting on Mike Brown to keep that team underachieving so the Cavs get a better pick.

great to see Waiters and Zeller having good games...Waiters will be extremely streaky this year with his shooting....i hope he learns that when his outside shot isnt falling that he should drive to the hoop more...hopefully he doesnt try to shoot his way out of a slump, ala Mo Williams
