Well, that was a nice win, but this team is flea dickhair thin. K, Waiters, Andy, Thompson, and Gee maybe, they did well. But the bench gave away a huge lead, and quite frankly none of those guys, except for maybe Sloan, looked NBA worthy. Walton and Gibson are both done, and Zeller has a ways to go but he is young so that's OK. Miles looks completely lost and clueless. I like the starting 5 and maybe a guy or two off the bench, but unless they are going to go 86-87 Celtics and play the starters all 40 minutes a game, this team is in trouble when the bench is in there.

I thought the same thing. I haven't enjoyed a Cavs game like that in quite some time. Loved how Waiters played and always love watching Kyrie. He is the undisputed leader of the team now. I think they are still a lottery team, but they are going to be a tough out this season. Especially if Andy keeps playing the way he played last night (or do they trade him while he's hot?!?!?!?)

I think they need to make the choice if they want to be a playoff team this year or wait one more year. If someone will offer a top 20 type draft pick for Andy I think they need to take it. I have always loved what Andy brings to the team, but he seems to get hurt every year and he can't have too much gas left in the tank. Let him go someplace where he can play for a title now.

The Cavs really need one more good draft and a big FA signing to be a title contender. This year they could get the 8 seed, but if they tank and get in the lottery with a couple other 1st round picks they might be able to bring in another quality starter and a good bench player. That would make them a middle of the road playoff team next year and hopefully a title contender after that. I still think the Waiters pick wasn't made for this year. When they picked him I think they were planning on him taking a year to develop so that he'll start to get it next year when they have a couple extra good young players to add to the mix.

At least the Cavs have an owner that is willing to spend money, which Oklahoma City probably wishes they had right now.

OKC is going to be spending a shit ton of money. they will have $45 million alone tied up in durant, westbrook and ibaka starting next year. if they re-sign kevin martin, they will have around $64 million tied up in just their starting 5. they are going to be hemorrhaging luxury tax even without harden.

all that being said, the cavs need to trade AV this year if they get the right offer. they can bundle luke walton with him as an expiring to take on a big contract and get a good draft pick. they already have the better of the lakers and heat picks. they have orlando's 2nd, which looks like it will be very high.

i can see another scenario where cleveland bundles picks and bring in two guys like they did last offseason. but for the love of jesus, they need a SF something awful.

Yea, let's hope Andy stays healthy long enough to get something
decent for him. This team is still not a playoff team. Two first rounders
in each of the next three drafts should address the depth problem. Another
first for Andy should help too. Well, as long as they draft smart.

Sure, it's only one game, but it was nice to see Waiters start with a good game, especially with Beal not looking too good for the Wiz.

I can already tell, the 2012 player that's going to [censored] me off every
time he enters the game , is going to be Luke Walton. Stiff. I'm assuming/
hoping we won't see much of Casspi.

I think by the time the season is over, Miles will be a decent contributer
off the bech. He looked like [Mark May] last night, but he'll get better.

given their two skill sets, it may be better to start miles and bring gee off the bench. miles plays better as a compliment to good players rather than being relied on to generate offense with the 2nd unit. gee was always the most effective when he was a sub. either way, neither one is a legit starter at the SF spot.

You clearly don't understand the NBA

But I agree with most that we need to trade Varejao. His value will never be higher. He won't be good anymore by the time we are ready to contend unless we acquire 2 all stars next offseason.

You are correct that I don't know anything about OKC's ownership, but unless something has changed with the NBA there is no limit to how much you can spend to keep your current players. Just saying that if you put OKC's roster in New York they probably would have eaten the luxury tax to keep Harden.
