Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

...then he turns around and only gains an additional 1.5" on his
max vert. Not good for an average athlete.:)

That does seem pretty odd to only add an inch and a half on your
max vert.

Just looking at that list you realize how worthless the vert numbers really are.

They're like 40 times. Don't get enamored with them. Use them to determine if there is a reason to be concerned about a guy's ability to compete at the next level. But they don't make up for lack of skill.

Well, Leonard did appear to make a pretty good improvement from year 1 to year 2. Either way, I wouldn't take either with anything before #13/14.
In my initial post when I mentioned that I would take Leonard I should have clarified myself had said that I would take him after getting a shooting guard and I would take him if somehow we could trade up and get the 10th pick as was mentioned earlier.

I definitely would take him over Zeller. While Zeller might be a better offensive player right now, I think NBA centers will have their way with him when it comes to his defense. I just don't think he is strong enough to be able to hold his own against the guys in the league right now.

The Cavs are going to do anything next year and that would be a good year for Leonard to improve his skills.

Barnes and Beal will both be working out for the Cavs on Saturday. I think the pick will come down to one of these guys, would be fun to be in the building to see the workout. (MKG is not making it to 4 and I don't see the Cavs falling in love with Drummond.)

the cavs need thomas robinson to get picked 2nd. that basically assures them one of beal or mkg, with it looking like the wizards are leaning towards mkg.

now, if barnes somehow puts on a show and shows some actual explosion and athleticism that he hasn't shown in 2 years of college, then it's a different matter altogether.

Really seems like things are leaning towards the Bobcast going with T. Robinson.

That leaves one of MKG, Beal, Barnes, or Drummond with the Cavs. I'm happy with any of those players and really don't see much discernible difference (all have their pros and cons).

Cavs are going to get a good player and certainly improve no matter who they draft. That's good.

If the Cavs get one of MKG, Beal, or Barnes, I will be perfectly happy. I prefer Beal even over MKG, simply because Alonzo Gee gives us a lot of flexibility at the SF position assuming we keep him in free agency.

Apparently (Hoopshype), Barnes' extra length didn't bother Beal. That's good news for those concerned about the height of Beal.

I've read recently that the Bobcats are leaning toward Robinson, with a chance that Jordan might take Barnes because he knows how the Carolina system may have affected him and feels he'll be an even better pro. Ideally, I'd like to see the Bobcats take TRob. The Bullets have been looking at MKG, so that would leave Beal or Barnes for Cle. at #4. I'd really like Beal, but they're getting a player either way.

I think the Bobcats would draft Barnes just went UNC. I think Jordan thinks that way.

Also, at the bottom of this article http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/blog/index.ssf/2012/06/terry_plutos_talkin_about_the_52.html Terry Pluto makes a case for Jeremy Lamb when comparing him against the other 3 guys mentioned.

If the Bobcats pick Barnes #2 that will pretty much prove that they will do nothing for as long as Jordan is the owner. I have no problem with them wanting Barnes, but they would be better off trading picks with the Cavs to see what else they could get along with Barnes. If I were the Bobcats I'd shoot for both first round picks, but settle for the #4, a second rounder this year, and one of the first rounders (Heat, Kings) that the Cavs have coming to them in the future. From the Cavs perspective I don't know if I'd give up both first round picks for MKG, but I would give any other mix of draft picks that don't involve their own future first rounders.

This has nothing to do with the Bobcats future or talent or anything else. It is just about North Carolina and Jordan believes and Jordan bleeds Carolina blue. I know what you and many others would do but you do not bleed Carolina blue:wink:

It's all smoke screen. They're taking Draymond Green.
