Bradley Beal has a lot of star potential at the SG position. He has unlimited range, a quick release, and he is very athletic. The only concern is his height.

And with Irving being more of a penetrating point guard, it would be ideal to pair him up with an athletic floor-spreading 2.

oddly enough, this info originally came from sam amick, the same guy that was spouting thompson to cleveland last year for about 10 days before the draft. you might want to follow him a little closer.

Oh but I did follow him a year ago. He changed his mock the eve of the draft to have TT to Cleveland. It was considered a surprise development at the time.

I'm admittedly shocked to be dropping this early bombshell, but a source said there are strong indications [Tristan Thompson] could be the pick as long as Kanter is off the board by No. 4.

Now if it was SOOO well known, why did Amick characterize it as a "bombshell"?

If Barnes is the pick, then I still want Doran Lamb at some point. Hell I want him regardless of who is the #4 pick.

Does anyone know if the Chicago combine will be televised by NBA tv ?

it was a bombshell to anyone that didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to what was being said for the 10 days leading up to the draft. i strongly suggest you venture over to realcavsfans.com and do a little research on the matter. thompson to the cavs was not a surprise to anyone really paying attention.

It's your argument man. Show me what you're talking about. I've shown you. Otherwise, this is too tangential of an issue to discuss further.

you've shown what exactly? all you've shown is that you were ignorant to cleveland's draft plans last year.

i think you have to be a member at rcf, but there is an archived thread there somewhere that has all the 2011 draft tweets and such. 4 days before the draft the news finally started hitting the twitterverse that thompson would be the pick at #4, all of which was centered on his workout a week prior, which people already knew that did the insider chats on that site.

Shown you that your assertion that Amick called TT to Cavs 10 days before the draft was wrong? Shown you that your statement that it was well known the Cavs were "likely" to take TT was wrong? Shown you that 4 weeks before the draft teams don't know what they are going to do yet?

What didn't I show you? And what did you show me?

i've said 100 times that the whole thing hinges on workouts and combines. your entire 4 week argument is a total failure as it's not even relevant to the discussion.

you haven't shown anything, at all. saying someone else is wrong because you weren't aware of what was going on doesn't win an argument. it just makes you ignorant to what was going on. nothing more. if you want to continue your angry ramblings with me via pm fine, but it's cluttering the thread at this point.

I'd take both... AND give #24

cuz then I have #4 & #10...

plus I'd trade #33 & #34 for a #1 next year

I'd get two fine players via draft.. add in a heckuva backup guard and a decent middle dude...

I wouldn't want to have to introduce 4 rookies with 2 one-year guys into the mix.. spread me too thin and frustrate me having to accept dumb rookie mistakes all year

then LeBron comes back starting in 2013 season... barf.. but.. life in the NBA.. and he can play

I'm not sure who would want to give a first next year for 2 early seconds this year.

I'd rather take both guys, keep #24 and give them their #33 pick back. Then pick 4, 10, 24.

Either way, I'm not buying ANY trade rumors until I actually see one
go through.

I'm of the opposite opinion, here's a link to this past season's All NBA Rookie Team. Twelve man team, Irving is the only player on the first team drafted above the eighth pick. Two of the team's members, were taken in the second round. Last year's draft sucked compared to this year. My point is, it's entirely possible we could strike it rich with one of the second round picks in a draft this deep.

Also, as of today, several of the mock draft sites, now have us taking Harrison Barnes at four.

I'd rather talk about trade rumors than the past 3+ pages of this thread.

I agree with this. With as high as the second rounders are I would like to keep as many picks as possible. If they did work out a trade for another first rounder I'd like to keep at least one of the 2nds unless it takes both to make the deal work. Worst case you have D league players or just cut poor performers outright. If they get a shot at a guy like Green or Lamb in the second round we'll be happy they kept the picks.
