Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Celtics are really bad at offense.

Celtics really don't have anything on offense. They are pretty much a worse version of the Hawks from last year. They are well coached and capable of playing well as a team, but they fold when they face a true star like Lebron or Love. I just hope they end up on the other half of the East bracket so the Cavs don't have a thuged out series with them again. Not because I think they could beat the Cavs, but just so we don't risk getting another stupid injury.

I would actually love to see the East end up with the playoff order they have right now:

Cleveland 16 7 .696 0.0 0.0 10-1 6-6 2-3 13-6 6-4 101.5 95.8 5.7 W-3
Chicago 14 8 .636 1.5 1.5 10-3 4-5 2-2 7-5 6-4 98.9 97.5 1.4 W-3
Toronto 16 10 .615 0.0 1.5 8-4 8-6 3-1 9-4 6-4 99.5 95.8 3.7 L-1
Indiana 14 9 .609 2.0 2.0 8-3 6-6 3-3 11-4 6-4 103.6 99.4 4.2 W-1
Charlotte 14 9 .609 0.0 2.0 10-4 4-5 2-3 9-7 7-3 102.7 98.0 4.7 L-1
Miami 14 9 .609 0.0 2.0 11-4 3-5 2-3 7-8 5-5 95.8 93.6 2.2 W-2
Boston 14 11 .560 1.5 3.0 7-6 7-5 3-2 10-7 6-4 102.6 98.4 4.2 L-1
Orlando 13 11 .542 1.5 3.5 7-4 6-7 0-2 6-6 7-3 100.1 98.5 1.6 W-1

It looks like the Cavs are sleep walking through the regular season right now.
We're still at the top and only giving lackadaisical effort many nights and being without our starting backcourt.
Which is fine by me.
No point in trying to go "golden state" and wear yourselves out to say "look at us we're undefeated".
GS is fun to watch but easy to root against, especially with Draymond MSU Green. I hate that guy.
Curry wasn't born on earth. He is not human. but I digress.

Its clear the Cavs are far and away better than everyone else. This team is stacked with talent.
This team is capable of putting its foot on the throat of every opponent it plays and winning every game.
But they don't give out hardware for that. Not until the Playoffs.
We just have to grind out the regular season and keep our record good enough to stay at the top of the East.

I've been impressed with Delly, his offense seems to be much more consistent.
Anyone know why they have him starting ahead of Mo?

Pretty sure Mo has an injury, hand maybe?

And that was with 3 guards hurt and some poor performances from other guys.

Was at the game. With all the injuries it had the feel of a game the Cavs probably weren't going to win so I'm very happy that they pulled it out. OKC is a tough match up for Love, but a lot of those TT dunks were because Love was camped out behind the 3 pt line, which they have to account for. I still hate how when they have a lead late they burn the clock and chuck up a 3. I'd like to see them burn the clock, but look for something at the hoop. You can tell Lebron likes playing against other MVP type guys, because he really picks his game up.

Hopefully Kyrie comes back against the Sixers, which would be a huge lift (not that they need it against the Sixers). It's more about making the game easier on guys like Delly and Lebron by giving Kyrie a share of the load than anything else. I sense Joe Harris' time with the Cavs is coming to an end. He is the only guy on the roster that doesn't see minutes and I don't see how you keep him instead of Cunningham. It sounds like they want to keep flexibility with that 15th roster spot in case someone gets bought out or they can use the TPE so they don't want Cunningham's salary to be fully guaranteed unless they can not pay someone else. Cunningham isn't a great player, but he is an athletic defender that would have been good to have in the Finals last year we our roster was 7 deep. Without Cunningham and RJ the Cavs don't win the game last night.

I hope Jason Day's wife is ok. I remember Lebron going into the stands, but I didn't know about it until I was listening to the radio on the way home.

Concussion. Interesting read in this article.. The Day family has a special relationship with quite a few of the Cavaliers.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- LeBron James accidentally crashed into and injured PGA champion Jason Day's wife during the fourth quarter of the Cavaliers' 104-100 win Thursday over the Oklahoma City Thunder as he chased a ball that was headed out of bounds.

The former Ellie Harvey, Day's wife, of Lucas, Ohio, was seated next to her husband courtside at The Q, near the Cavs' bench, when James came barreling toward her with 5:00 to go in the game in an attempt to save a ball he had batted away from Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook.

James, who's 6-8 and weighs at least 250 pounds, knocked into her the way a linebacker might truck a quarterback if the QB were seated in a folding chair. She appeared to have hit her head on the floor -- James said he hit his head, too -- and she was down for several minutes before being wheeled out on a stretcher with her head and neck secured by a brace.

She was treated for concussion symptoms at nearby MetroHealth Medical Center and released, according to the Associated Press.

I just wish Andy or Lebron would body up Steph one time with authority. I think the guy just gets away with never getting any of the rough NBA play. If anyone fouled him like they do Lebron he'd have a court case or eventually just be out of the league.

Someone tried to argue the other day that he'd still be great in the "old NBA" and I just laughed. He's a fantastic player, don't get me wrong, but he's basically untouched all game every game other than a few slaps here and there. Old Pistons or Knicks would have him tearing up

That's what I've been saying but it's a different league now that he can thrive in. That shot is a masterpiece no doubt about it.

Prime time Xmas day game. Not a chance in hell the NBA lets it get to a physical grinder game like the finals. If someone even farts at curry, they'll get called. Golden state will be able to use dropkicks to set screens for him and they won't get called.

God I love the NBA. :pissed3:

If there ever was a game for Kyrie and Love to both go off this would be it. Not worried about Lebron, since he'll get his regardless. I would love to see a small lineup with Love at the 5 be so good that the Warriors have to go big. Assuming Mo is still out I'd throw Delly, Shump, and Cunningham (for a few minutes) at Curry the whole game. They should be able to tell us what he had for Christmas Eve dinner after the game. Just make him run his ass off to get open all game. The lineup I really want to see is Kyrie, Delly, Shump/Smith, Lebron, and Love/TT.

Side note anyone notice how all but 2 teams (Giving the Bucks credit for being better than their record) have a shot a the playoffs in the East and only 7 teams really want in out West? That whole seeding by record thing the West was pushing for last year might have backfired against them this year.

Refs getting the Cavs ready for the Warriors. Can't buy a call.

Kyrie seems afraid to finish at the hoop and hasn't tried to shoot. 3pt shooting has been terrible tonight. Needs to be better Friday or the Warriors are going to blow them out.
