That little 120-66 final is not indicative of how close this game wasSo much for the Bucks extending it to 7 games. They are only down 50 in the 3rd quarter. That's right, FIFTY

Wait, did you just say you are ok with the first couple of years of early eliminations with Wiggins until he takes over for LeBron so we can win championships??? Sorry, LeBron only has another 4-5 years of great years left you don’t want to waste them HOPING Wiggins can take over.I think how you feel about the Love trade is simply a matter of perspective. I would consider myself a long-term thinker, and in the long-term, undoubtedly it makes more sense to keep Wiggins than to trade him. You're looking at two or three years of early playoff elimination, and then you hope Wiggins can take over for LeBron. Maybe LeBron can ride off into the sunset with a title or two in Wiggins' fourth or fifth year. The problem there is fitting Irving, Wiggins, and LeBron into one scheme, and then filling out your front court. It's dangerous to be so loaded at PG, SG, and SF, and fill in the PF and C positions with role players. That said, you're looking at ten plus years of relevance between LeBron, Kyrie, and Wiggins no matter what. This is probably the plan that most organizations would go with.
We are Cleveland fans, though, and between the fact that the city hasn't won a title in 50 years, and the old guy coming home is LeBron James, that simply isn't an option. Cleveland would rather have five years of relevance and a title (maybe two), and understandably so. LeBron is one of the most impatient and demanding players that the league has seen, so if he was coming back it had to be his way, with his scheme, and his personnel. This is the same guy that spent his four best years (four all-time great years, by the way) in Miami. Because he had to win now.
A little off topic from my Wiggins/Love tirade, but the worst part about LeBron is that I hate him for leaving, but I also understand why he did it. Maybe if he had done it in a more professional way, and gone to a less glamorous city, I'd feel differently. And maybe I'll feel differently if the Cavs win a title with LeBron at the helm. This post is under the assumption (and my initial feelings about the Wiggins/Love trade) that they won't. And in that case I'd rather be relevant for ten years than five. The interesting thing about this trade is that we won't know who got the better end of the deal until LeBron retires.
Fuck the national media and what they think. This is what I think. The only way he'll be able to sign a big deal outside of Cleveland is if he's able to show that his shoulder has healed. That means it was time to get the surgery done now to allow the maximum heal time before October (coincidentally the end of his recovery time is October)....
He'll be throwing away a minimum of $30 million by leaving Cleveland this year, probably much more once the cap goes up a good bit in 2016.
I'm not sure he cares to be honest. Time will tell....
yeah, I don't know what to tell you if you think kevin love doesn't care about leaving at least $30 million on the table in what will likely be his final big payday contract.
I think you're a Cavs fan who is desperately hoping that Love comes back even though he never looked comfortable or happy in a Cavs uniform...because if Love doesn't and the Cavs can't bring in another player to be with Irving and Lebron, Lebron opts out after next year and goes to a contender.
Like I said, time will tell.....
i think you're trying to play the miserable woe is cleveland fan and ignoring the obvious financials of the situation and ignoring how love looked perfectly fine and happy the last two months of the season.
and by the by, if love really didn't want to be in cleveland, there would very likely end up being a sign and trade anyway, so the cavs would get assets back from his departure.
Exactly. Funny to hope for Wiggins to bring a championship. He will NEVER be the player LeBron is - so I cannot see waiting for someone after LeBron.Wait, did you just say you are ok with the first couple of years of early eliminations with Wiggins until he takes over for LeBron so we can win championships??? Also, it isn’t like Love is 35, He has a good 5-7 years of all-star level basketball in him. So our immediate window is a bit longer than you think as LeBron ages, Love can take a bigger role. So we could be looking at a 3-4 titles before LeBron leaves. This team right now is a championship contender, and that is why we brought Love here.

Woe is Cleveland fan? Here's a hint: I'm not a Cavs fan, nor do I particularly like or care about the NBA in general. Meanwhile, I see Cavs fans of various types all trying to convince themselves that the Love trade was worth it and that Love is going to be in Cleveland long term.
I wouldn't say this isn't a possibility, but Love has the option to opt-out. It's ok to admit this is a nightmare scenario for Cleveland Cavs fans, one I actually think has a decent possibility of happening in this case....
i see cavs fans using kevin love's own words and actions, and pointing out the obvious financial advantage of staying in cleveland as reasons he will stay. i've seen you not offer anything to the contrary besides "you think it has a decent chance".
What will happen is that love and lebron will both opt in this offseason, becoming free agents in 2016, when the cap is supposed to go up quite a bit with the new tv deal, and then signing max contracts for far more than they could possibly get this year.
