Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Kyrie and Shump were great, everyone else needs to step up. The Bulls won't shoot the three like that again this series, but I doubt we'll get that much production from Shumpert again, either.

The Cavs can put LeBron on Noah all series. That will give him an opportunity to rest on that side of the floor. The most puzzling/frustrating part of the game was watching Gasol get countless (at least six or seven) open looks from mid-range. Shumpert said after the game that the Cavs challenged him and now they know he can hit that shot. Any casual fan of the NBA could tell you he'll hit that shot. He's been doing it for 10 years now. I was sure the Cavs would win tonight after they closed the gap, but they were never able to put their foot on Chicago's throat. That's not a good sign. Jimmy Butler is an outstanding player. He's what Chicago fans believe Rose still is.

I'm not worried yet, but this now puts a ton of pressure on the Cavs to win game two, and I never like that. LeBron's Heat teams always performed in this situation when he was in Miami, and almost never when he was in Cleveland. They should have won tonight, and games like that tend to come back and haunt you. We'll see.

Really missed JR last night. Nobody hitting 3's or causing Chicago alarm at the 3 point line crowded the paint a great deal. Even still, the Cavs were able to get to the rim quite a bit. Seemed they played more not to lose than to win - and I hate that.

Lebron has to just go be himself right now and if the guys don't jump on board and come with him, it's not his fault. Tried way too hard last night to just facilitate when he should have been looking to dominate. Kyrie and Shump were ready to go and if it's just those 3 who are going to go for it, so be it. Can't force square pegs into a round hole. I want to see Lebron just bitch slap every Bull who tries to get in his way in Game 2 and make them feel insecure about it.

BM hit it on the head too about leaving Gasol open from 12 feet. WTF was that? Several times Lebron and Mozzy were on a guard going into the paint. Why did LBJ feel the need to help out on those instead of dropping back and take away Gasol? Mozgov is going to throw that shit out of there most of the time so don't give up the wide open look.

Let's go CAVS!!!

In a way, James acted like he did not even want to play last night. Only went to the line one time which is ridiculous for him. Settled on too many jump shots. I know that he had double-digit rebounds and 9 assists but we need his scoring (points) and he needs to go to the basket much more the rest of the series if the Cavs are going to play on.
Sort of agree with Pluto's calm in Cleveland.com where he suggests that may be Blatt should consider starting Deli and perhaps Thompson. I think that Thompson could shut down Gasol a little bit better than Mosgov and Deli is in better shape to play defense better than Miller or Jones. Those guys just did not get the minutes during the regular season to be ready for the playoffs.
I really thought James would go for around 30+ tonight and if he does not do that for the rest of the series the Cavs can kiss this one goodbye.

When he drove the lane and passed out to Dellavedova on the 3=pt line in the corner... I might have blurted out profanities.. followed by more profanities when Delle bricked it

Deli is fucking awful. Watching him overpursue on every dribble move an offensive player makes and switching on every single screen is infuriating. Try to go through one instead of getting stuck guarding Pau Gasol! He should be getting maybe half the minutes he does now. JR Smith is missed.

Hopefully Shump's leg is ok. Be nice to get JR back next game, but they need a healthy Shump as well. I'll take a split with no Love and no JR. Need to take 1 in Chicago. Still didn't see like Lebron shot the ball well, but he was aggressive and got his points at the hoop. Interesting that game 1 the Cavs came back from way down to within 2 and the Bulls never seemed to be able to pull off a comeback today. No 2 day rests for Rose, which will be good.
