Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

JV grabbed Lebron and he fell, it wasn't nearly as bad as it was portrayed, and probably not really worthy of a flagrant 1. but how did the cavs respond? they went small and made JV run around like a chicken with his head cut off, unable to guard anyone while lebron scored at will. toronto sinking every garbage 3 they threw up, at home, and they still lost to a cleveland team on the 2nd night of a back to back. That's the cavs response.

He won't be scoring at will if he continues to get knocked around with no repercussions. It's the one way to get him off his game. Get physical with him.

Physical is one thing.. cheap is another

Last couple games reminds me of... gouging eyes in the pile; stepping on ankles as you get up... pitiful cheap shit
We need to send in Haywood for one play to punch someone in the mouth.. get ejected, and Cavs pay the fine
Or to undercut their best player.. to highlight... both sides have something to lose if the cheap shit persists

I think Blatt is starting to figure it out, but I still have some major issues.

James Jones was on the floor in crunch time tonight while Kevin Love sat on the bench. Thompson also played with Mosgov sat. James Jones can shoot the three, and Love is an awful defender, but what?? Love is still a top 30 player in the league, even if his stats were a little inflated in Minnesota. Thompson over Mosgov I'll never figure. Thompson's post-up defense is statistically terrible. What's he in for? Offensive boards? He's a nice energy guy off the bench, but I wouldn't let him play past the 4:00 mark in the 4th quarter.

My other issue stems more from the Rockets game the other night. What the hell was the offense doing? They're limited without Irving, but not that limited. And the bigger issue comes when the Cavs have the ball on the final possession in regulation with an opportunity to win the game, and Blatt draws up a LeBron iso? I heard this guy was an offensive genius in Europe. Why is he Mike Brown 2.0 in the NBA?
You really need to read the following article because some people disagree with you

I didn't watch the game, and I get that the calls were gutsy and may have worked out, but I can't defend Thompson playing over Love. He may be a slightly better defensive player, but Love gives you offensive versatility that Thompson can't. I'm glad that Blatt rode the hot hand with Jones, but this should be the playoff crunch time lineup:

Irving
Smith/Shumpert
LBJ
Love
Mosgov

Cleveland's starting five are one of the best groups in the NBA, statistically. Mosgov and LBJ give you quality defense (as well as Shumpert if he's needed). And there is no weak spot offensively. Mosgov has shown the ability to get open underneath the basket, and he's a decent FT shooter.

Big game tonight against Atlanta who are on another 5-game win streak. Cavs are 6-2 since the break with one of those losses being against the Pacers with no LeBron or Kyrie and then the just plain weird game against Houston. Quality wins against the Wizards, Warriors and Raptors. Really looking forward to seeing how they play against Atlanta's defense. Cavs are 1-2 against Atlanta this year...with the first two both being a bit of an anomaly. Cavs hit their first 11 3s in the first outing and then Shelvin Mack exploded for 24 in the second game and handed the Cavs their worst loss of the season. And LeBron and Horford both didn't play in the third game so it will be fun to see both squads at full strength tonight.

Local sports talk guys are saying this is one of the priciest tickets to get on Stub Hub for a regular season game in nearly 10 years (for the Hawks at least).
Should be a good one, there are 20+ games left in the regular season, so no injuries - PLEASE!

Any Atlanta based Cavs fans going? If so you can check out Nique's new statue. Just unveiled this week.

LBJ is really letting his ego get in the way
It could work if he wasn't playing his shittiest of the season
Turnovers and horrible foul shots is not the formula
He needs to let his teammates do it till he gets his head on right

Keeping Della in guarding a man that left him in the dirt all night didn't help

Think I read yesterday or a couple days ago was the first actual practice the team has had together in 2 weeks (since All-Star Break)?? Schedule has just been brutally packed. Finally opened up some extra days to have a practice.

Looks like it did them well.
