Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

No Kyrie, no LeBald...guess this is another "throwaway" game.
Pacers luck into their 2nd throwaway game in a row against the Cavs. They just played a Friday game after a Cavs Thursday primetime game a few weeks ago.

(Actually Pacers have had a TON of luck with their matchups lately- Warriors w/out Curry, OKC w/out Durant, and now Cavs w/out LBJ and Kyrie...all just this week)

I'm not usually one to pamper the athletes and I think all these guys have grown up playing enough basketball their entire lives that playing everyday should not be a challenge- hell, they all grew up playing 3-4 games a day for weekends straight during summer ball, I'm sure (I did). BUT...how the hell do the Cavs end up with 5 games in 7 days?

Anyway. This is ugly. Let's just skip ahead to Sunday (Houston).

I like resting LeBron, but what I don't get is why they didn't do it Sunday against Houston. We probably beat the Pacers with LeBron on the floor. We may still lose to the Rockets with LeBron, Irving, and Love all playing on Sunday. I'd take the win where I can for sure get it and rest LeBron on the 50/50 games. Beating the Pacers counts just the same as beating the Rockets in the win column.

As long as the Cavs pass the Raptors in the standings they should have the #2 seed stitched up. Chicago will go into a tailspin without Rose, so it's just a matter of time there. The Cavs travel to Toronto in a few days, so that's a big one. The Cavs currently lead the season series 2-1.

I think they're better off seeing what they've got against tough teams from the West and resting guys against non-factors like the Pacers. It's not going to make much difference whether where this team falls in terms of seeding, what they find out about themselves against top competition will pay greater dividends in the postseason.

This is first generation LBJ/Cavs offense. Dribbles without purpose, 1 on 1, then shot. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Yep, hard to watch. LeBron 3-11 from the FT line, including two potential shots to win it. Going to be tough to swallow if they get a lower seed because of two missed free throws.

I have got to say, despite the awful offensive play and Thompson playing in crunch time (against Harden who bases his game off of drives???), I hate the Rockets. Sincerely.
