Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I was about to say 9 in a row was impressive, then I noticed Hotlanta has won 18 in a row. I haven't been following much with other sports in high gear, but now as the all star break is coming and football is over, I'll start paying more attention. I didn't realize Atlanta was having the season they were. Wow.

But it's good to see things starting to gel for Cleveland

Cavs aren't catching Atlanta, but if the Cavs are on I'm not worried about home court. Hoping the Hawks end up first, Cavs second and the Bulls get their shit together and finish 4th.

I have to admit I was 50/50 between Kyrie and Derrick Williams for that #1 pick. Luckily the Cavs made the right choice. Tristan's been okay and still seems to be improving, but that supposedly weak draft had Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, and a handful of other pretty decent players as later picks.

I know it's easy to use hindsight to criticize draft picks, but the guy who stands out to me for the Waiters pick is Andre Drummond. That guy is a wrecking ball on the boards. At the time, I wanted Harrison Barnes, who has been marginally better than Waiters IMO. At least the Cavs have parlayed that Waiters pick into some decent assets.

Looking back at the 2013 draft, I still don't see anyone that makes me want to tear my hair out that we could have had with the #1 pick. Maybe Nerlens?

I wanted Drummond so that's the one I would really like to have back. Waiters was a huge reach where they drafted him. Nobody from last years draft has jumped out yet. TT wasn't a bad pick, but hindsight being 20/20 could you imagine Irving, Klay Thompson, and Lebron with Drummond under the hoop?

Those four would be an unbelievable combo. Drummond with the rebounding and rim protection, Klay Thompson with the outside shooting, Kyrie with the ball skills, and Lebron being Lebron. I didn't even know who Drummond was at the time of that draft, but man, he's a beast. I was shocked by the Waiters pick like everyone else.

There was talk of Drummond being the #1 overall halfway through the NCAA season that year.
