I rarely disagree with you on the browns, but he gets to say he believed in both the offense and defense. That he got away with it... Helps.

My only question is what the playcall was before the timeout. The Broncos were clearly selling out to stop a run play, by the looks of it. If Williams sees this and says “Oh fuck! Let’s call a T.O. and get that fixed...” okay. To come back out against a similar looking front and just run the ball the way they did, it’s about the weakest aggressiveness you could draw up at that point. The Browns won and that is going to air out some of the stink but a straight up, non creative run in to the teeth isn’t what I’d call a smart play design. Maybe a little fake handoff bootleg with Mayfield rolling out for the first or a playaction dump off for a couple. Anything other than what they ran, obviously.

Dunno.. but they gave Denver a chance to regroup after the TO..kick it and play D I would agree, but... here we are

Tell ya what, twenty seasons in...the clowns finally have a qb.

I’ve said I wouldn’t believe they were finally turning things around until I saw tangible results on the field. I wouldn’t get sucked back in. I didn’t when they started 7-4 in 2014. But this is legit. They have finally, FINALLY, started putting together a roster that just might be able to get this god forsaken franchise somewhere. Now, don’t let the goodwill of some change-inspired play sucker you into making Gregg Williams your full time head coach. This job will be one of, if not THE most attractive jobs open. Go get somebody.

Disclaimer — if it’s Gregg Williams or Mike McCarthy, stick with Williams.

I really wanted Baker with the first pick so im glad they took him #1. I can't believe they have a franchise QB from this guys rookie season. Next 10 years they have a shot now no matter what.
