I tried to tell you all the Browns would win the game today. It really isn't a surprise considering Cincinnati is worse than a 5-5 record would suggest, and the Browns are better than they had been earlier in the year, with a new offensive scheme & getting healthier on defense for this last couple of games.
They probably should win the home games with the Panthers (terrible pass D) and Bengals (already beat them once, why not at home?). I would not be surprised if they finish with 6 wins. But the rest of the schedule has overall fairly winnable games - none of the last 5 opponents for the Browns are Super Bowl contenders. They probably lose at the Texans and Broncos, but those could be pretty close games. They could beat the Ravens again.I predicated that the Browns would win four games this season and be competitive in most, provided that Mayfield was as advertised if he took over the starting spot. With five games left to play, I would not be surprised to see them reach six wins.
I know, I know, but doesn't EVERY team do this? It seems that every time an NFL team goes up big early they go into turtle mode and play the clock out. It seems like accepted strategy.I do not enjoy the play calling at all in the second half. I know there were trying to milk the clock but they were trying to make cheese while they were milking. If I remember correctly, Mayfield only through only one pass the entire second half. Strange things can happen in NFL games no matter how shitty the other team is and the Browns took the foot off the pedal way too early. I do not know if that was Kitchens idea or Williams but Dorsey should have a talk with both of them.
