Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

You just wait for the inevitable bad news that is always sure to follow. You know, the "Browns gonna Brown," news. It seems like that news might be that they are looking at ex-Lions GM, Mayhew, as a GM candidate. A home run hire if I ever saw one. Guy did wonders with that Lions squad.

Ask and you shall receive:
Report: Cleveland Browns to interview Martin Mayhew, former Lions exec, for GM vacancy

As long as they're not rebates

I guess that's what I meant, but, yes, that's more accurate.

Which reminds me... so, I was at the Steelers game at First Energy (And this is the first game I've been to in a couple years, so, forgive me if this is common) there's a Flying J Promotion...

"If the Browns Score 24 points, you can redeem your ticket stub for a free cup of coffee"

Alright, that's funny enough, what are the odds they score 24 points.

But here's the kicker, as an incentive to actually get your free cup of coffee... 24 of those customers will get $24 Flying J gift cards.

Nice job guys, you just threw $576 at the incentive for a very improbable outcome.

Well, they were decent against the run at least?
The rest of their D was fairly "meh"... total yards was middle of the pack... 1st downs and scoring were bad.

Doesn't seem dumpster fire bad yet... 2 years ago we were looking at guys like this to be HC.

Would Horton be that terrible? His defense in 2013 wasn't bad...
I guess I was thinking that was when he was in Arizona they had a very aggressive defense and when he came to the Browns they seem to play rather passive. In looking at the numbers for 2013 the defense gave up quite a few points and the red zone defense was not very good. This discussion might be mute because he might not be able to get out of his contract with the Titans.
