Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Do not understand the Browns interest in Ben Tate except for the fact that I guess he played for Shanahan for a year or two but I would rather see the money spent on a OG and draft a decent RB. I do not know maybe they will do both.

Also, do not understand the so-called interest in the DE from Buffalo. I thought they had enough defensive linemen unless something is in the works.

I really like for them to pick up one of the remaining slot receivers since they struck out on Hawkins. Sanders would be nice.

If you can get Tate for a good price on a one year deal I would love that signing...you can still draft a RB but the days of drafting RB's in the top 40 picks should be long gone for us...i hope...we still have Dion Lewis for one year also...Tate when healthy, put up very nice numbers while being in a time share with Arian Foster

Carrington can rush the passer from the DT spot and played very well as the #3 DT on 2012, got hurt early in 2013. most Bills fans want him back but for no reasons cuz we have not other DTs other than Kyle, Dareus and a "run stopper" in Branch, we haven't offered him a deal...bu hey we will pay 3+ mill for one of the worst G in the NFL.

Carrington was Buffalo's "secret superstar"? Dude, lay off the profootballfocus. :panic:

in 2012 yes he played very well. o wait u love the Chris Williams pick up shows how much u know.

Love it? It's a pick up, somewhere between the Doug Legursky and Mario Williams deals, and you've got to make a lot of those moves to fill a roster. Carrington is a big body who has some familiarity with Pettine, but as a career backup coming off an injury, he's not a difference maker.

But I'm glad you've found a new team, you guys seem like a good fit. 8D

Isn't there a Buffalo Bills thread

Well you brought up Carrington, who has only ever played for Buffalo, so.

This was less than 2 years ago. Let that sink in.

From an outside perspective, I would want Manziel if I were Cleveland. Even if he is a bust (and I do not think he will be), he will provide some much-needed excitement to the franchise and at a position that has been downright dismal for them. Can Manziel possibly be worse than Couch, Frye, Delhomme, Wallace, Weeden, Campbell, etc.? I guess it is possible but I don't see it happening. The only first round QB I see with that potential is Bortles.

You've already addressed big defensive needs with Dansby and Whitner, so you can go offense early and I think this draft class is offense heavy anyways (which I am guessing you planned on). I think you can get a good RB in the 2nd and even if you take Watkins at #4, who will throw to him? I still think if Manziel is available, he would at least bring some excitement and there has been a trend for rookie sensations at QB recently. I know I am going to be watching every game of whichever team he ends up on to see how he does. Just an outsiders 2 cents.

Watkins at 4 or trade down is my stance on this draft currently. Takes pressure off of Flash Gordon, takes pressure of whoever is throwing the rock, and in the unfortunate event that Flash is caught smoking the reefer or doing any other drugs it is a great insurance policy.

I'm on the Manziel train as well, but for entirely different reasons. I think the comedy would be delightful...and that's how I've come to view the clowns over the past few years: a good Sunday comedy.

A lot of folks seems to be on the Hoyer bandwagon. I don't see it. He had two pretty solid games. One against a putrid Minnesota defense. He might be good for a season as a bridge to somebody else, but I see another Derek Anderson. Has a handful of pretty good games, then falls apart.

You shut your whore mouth!!!

Jokes aside - no. Fuck no. Don't ever take a QB thinking "hey, he might be a bust at least it will be an exciting bust". The kid is going to flame out
real quick when he finds out that DE/OLB's in the league run a faster 10 yard split than he does. As pointed out, his impatience in the pocket and tendency
to sense pressure that doesn't exist will be his undoing. At 5'11 205lbs, he won't last long either.

Fact is, we've taken enough QB's to "excite" the fans of this franchise. I don't want excitement, I want just a little consistency.

Hoyer isn't our franchise QB. He's not any teams franchise QB. However he's a heady player that can quickly diagnose a defense and make your
traditional a,b,c decision. That type of smart play can still win you some damn games. Will Brian take this team to the promised land? No. With enough
talent around him can we start to even back up the all time record against Pittspuke and maybe have a shot at the playoffs? Yes.

I don't ever like saying a player is doomed for x reasons, but Manziel will bust. Be it either his playing style (most likely) or his attitude, I'd give him a couple years at most.
