Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Directly conflicting with what others (including Browns players) have said. And wasn't there a picture of Gordon and him together out somewhere?

Admittedly I haven't watched Hundley this year. I am told he has been playing behind a garbage Oline and still completing close to 70% of his passes. From what I saw in 2013 however, I wouldn't
invest a pick that high in the kid.

More I thought about it, more I'd lean towards taking Sean Mannion out of Oregon State (later in the draft, 4th round or 5th if still available).

The "Super Bowl caliber" QB's people throw out are guys like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Big Ben, etc. These are all stand in the pocket QB's - I think Mariota is very talented but he's not fitting that mold. The only guy I can think of that isn't a pure pocket passer like that who has won it all was Wilson but he's not much of a runner anymore.

Mannion had a stellar junior year but senior year was a step back but let's be honest....it was Oregon State, he wasn't playing with fire up there.

That was actually whom I was looking at. Kid has an arm. Reminds me of Anderson except not legally retarded.

The Comedy of QBs continues... apologies for espn source.

Farmer now claiming Haslam had nothing to do with Manziel pick.
Some interesting tidbits:
- Farmer says QB Coach Loggains, who initially provided the story about the text message on draft day, was not even in the room when they made the decision on Manziel.
Farmer is trying to debunk that story for Haslam's sake, but in doing so is now saying that the QB Coach wasn't even involved in drafting Manziel. I'm not sure which is worse or who I should believe.
- Farmer speaks out both ends of his mouth regarding Manziel's future. On one hand saying he's confident Manziel can rebound, on the other saying he won't hesitate to draft another QB in the 1st round.
- Farmer says Manziel will get a chance to compete in the Fall, but hints that he'll have competition from the draft, FA, somewhere... saying they'll leave no stone unturned looking for "the right guy" (ie: not Manziel)
- Reading the tea leaves, but sounds like they're a little more committed to Gilbert, Manziel has til Fall to show maturity with actions, and Gordon will be on the trade table.

it really does not make any difference any longer whose decision it was to draft Johnny. We got him and we are stuck with him. We probably are going to have to bring in someone else be at a guy from the draft or a veteran free-agent. They probably will not know before the draft a little bit more about the QB situation because I am sure that they will be keeping a close eye on Johnny. I have no idea who would give the Browns anything for Gordon but if there is someone out there who offers a pick I would let him go before he violates the drug policy again and is suspended again by the NFL. I can live with Gilbert because I am sure that the veteran guys are going to be on his case and you cannot really give up on him because of his cap hit.
