Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Jackson's deal is a four-year, $22 million deal with $11 million guaranteed.
Signs with Colts
I just lost a bit of respect for DQ.. no way that offer is better than any the Browns offered...
and not quite in the same realm his last one (something like $16M over two years)-which obviously no one in the NFL thought reasonable either.. nor DQ and his agent

I wonder how his salary is disbursed. That said - I kind of agree. I don't think money was an issue, however I can't blame the man for wanting to be on a team that will most likely be a legitimate playoff contender.

Desmond Bryant is all systems go.

The Cleveland Browns defensive end tweeted Friday that he's been cleared to return to football activities after his 2013 campaign was cut short by a heart condition:

Everybody has been asking about my health. The doctor gave me full clearance and I am currently preparing for a very successful 2014 season!

if I were the Browns, I would let Mack walk instead of matching a possible offer that he might get from another team. It is rather obvious that he does not want to play in Cleveland and he probably will be history after next season anyway.

I sure hope they don't take Johnny Football with the 4th pick as some are predicting in mock drafts. I just don't think he's going to be a NFL franchise QB. This may be a good option:

A mock daft:

#4. BROWNS-- Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson --Browns can add the best play making WR opposite of Josh Gordon to give team immediate game breaking weapons. Rather than take a QB they don't feel is the 'franchise' guy, they add a big weapon for Brian Hoyer. This also adds insurance in case of a Gordon mishap along the way.

Projected QB free agent signings:

Matt Schaub, Cleveland: With the Browns firing their front office and going with rookie GM Ray Farmer and rookie coach Mike Pettine, the likelihood they trade up or go big for a quarterback at the top of the draft has greatly diminished. I'd be surprised if they took a passer in the first round. They want competition for Brian Hoyer however, and Schaub already knows this system inside out from his time with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in Houston. In fact, he thrived under him. Schaub is not as mobile and spry as he used to be, but with a new offensive system in place there, Schaub is an obvious choice and after making $15M a year the past few years, he will come cheaply. (Rex Grossman would be a fall-back plan here, with his Shanahan ties).
