Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

This is the most hyperbolic post I've ever read in my life.

Kool-Aid drinkers only ones thinking this franchise is going in the right direction. No one else agrees.

EDIT: Not one to shy away from my bold statements, I again propose that if this team wins more than 4 games this year, I won't post for a year. Any Kool-Aid drinkers up for the bet?

I do think the franchise took a step forward.....the problem is it is about 5 steps behind the mid-pack of the league's franchises. They need to start hitting doubles and triples instead of singles.

The problem with singles is that you eventually have to knock some guys in. Joe Thomas, for example, is a great player, but how much longer is he going to be a building block for the future when he's stuck on teams winning 4 and 5 games each year?

And I do think T-Rich is going to be a great player that makes this team better. He's better than a single. But he's going to be facing some stacked defenses in the box.

The issue is the Bengals/Steelers knocked the draft out of the park.

While we may have shored up in some areas, overall the draft was a disaster and keeps us behind the good organizations who draft well year in-year out.

It's just so disappointing the Browns had an amazing draft right in their reach and fumbled it so badly.

As Judge Smales said "the world needs ditch diggers too"

The Browns are the NFL's ditch diggers. :(

I'll make you a gentleman's bet the Browns win more than 5 games. Most of the "experts" give the Browns draft an above average grade. I don't know where you get this idea only kool-aid don't agree with you.

The Browns know they won't win more then 3 games this year and are hoping to get the top pick for the USC kid next year.

You must not be paying any attention...If the Browns had a plan of only winning 3 games this year so they could lock up a top pick...they'd fuck it all up and win 6.

And for the record..Fuck Barkley! A Pac 10 defense makes a Big 12 defense look like an SEC defense. Not to mention his punk ass will be in contention for a Heisman..and well..we kind of all know how that works out.

Edit: Of course looking at the schedule..they might only win 1 game..and I think they could at least tie BYE.

I heard people talk about it, but this is the first time I looked at it. The NFL didn't do them any favors. The only thing they have going for them if NFL schedules are setup the way I think they are the whole NFC North has the same schedule.

it was reported on wknr (the bruce hooley station of the browns) yesterday that the saints were all set to take hughes 2 picks after cleveland, and pittsburgh was going to take him in the 4th instead of the fat injured samoan.

atlanta's beat writer came out and said point blank that atlanta was taking schwartz in the 2nd and even looked to trade up to do so.

i guess the melters in this thread need to take issue with some other nfl front offices as well.

I haven't seen one grade where Cleveland got above a C+ from anyone other than sbnation or bleacher report - which, sorry to say, aren't exactly reputable sources. And they've consistently received the lowest grade within their own division - which isn't surprising because even the Bengals seem to be running a viable shop nowadays compared to the Clowns.

If this team wins more than five games, I will run around naked screaming at a full moon.
