You're backing an opinion up with your own opinion.

Uhh yeah, player evalutions are just that - opinion (and then some I guess)

I'll go back and see what I can look at for him. I have the evening off to relax now that I'm done for the day. I've see enough of Hardesty so I'll move my attention to Ward.

I have now watched him that much since the end of last season. Sad that you do not have better things to do rather than watch reruns of Oregon football

I think its sad that you guys dont watch re-runs of other teams football games from the previous season

I was flipping over to ESPN Classic last night to watch a re-run of the 1990 All American Bowl between NCSU and Southern Miss.

It did feature former Brown wideout Michael Jackson. Now, we're at least somewhere in the area code of on topic.

Source: Matt Roth of Cleveland Browns requests trade - ESPN

ESPiN reporting...

I like Roth's game too, it would be a shame to lose him.

WTF? I like his game too, but we took him off the freaking waiver wire because Miami was finished with him. It's not like he's worth Merriman money (though he probably thinks he is). Methinks he might be overestimating his value a tad.

Now if was Jackson I would surely grant him his wish but I probably would have a hard time finding a trading partner. He might just be released. On the other hand regarding Roth, he did look pretty nice coming from the outside last year but you have to wonder why did Miami let him go last year. Was it because of money... I don't know. The Browns have a lot of linebackers on their roster so they get a suitable taker Matt might get his wish. They should really take the second round tender for one year and really prove himself if he really does have game. Then he could get some big-time money next year as a free agent.

As I recall Miami tried him as a DE/LB hybrid, and it never really worked.

the bottom line is that the deadline for other teams to make an offer for a RFA is over. Roth has 3 options:

1. sign the tender and play at that compensation level this year.
2. sit out and make squat.
3. sign a long term deal with the browns.

considering he was cut by miami midway through the season, he's not going to get a big time contract. he also isn't going to fetch much in a trade. he needs to sign his tender, bust ass, and cash in next year.

Or
4. Someone actually wants to trade for him and the browns trade him ( very doubtful)

Ugh, again, what has this dude done to earn a long term deal. Apparently in Miami he was cut because he faked an injury. He came here and played some great football, but do it for a whole year without quitting on us too and you'll get what you deserve. I for one, don't wanna pay guys long term money to fake injuries and sit on their ass; especially when you come here for 6 games and then think you are owed something??
