What has happened to Fairley:huh: He seems to have dropped like a rock. I think we have to start rebuilding our DL in the first round plus I just don't think Peterson will be there when we pick.

Aren't there doubts about his knee(s) or something? Or maybe I'm getting him mixed up with Bowers.

Yeah, Bowers is the knee.... Peterson is the verified crappy wonderlic... Fairley is the probable crappy wonderlic and Dareus isn't going to fall to us.

Who made the Von Miller prediction?

Why should anybody care about Peterson's Wonderlic score? He'd be asked to play CB, not teach 1st grade. As long as he can keep up with the man across from him and track down flying footballs I think he'll be OK.

FWIW, here's what Don Banks of SI.com had to say about Fairley in his most recent mock. He had Fairley going at #8 to Tennessee:

There are teams with some question marks by Fairley's name, be it his slightly less than NFL-prototypical size, his lack of technique when using his hands, or his thin track record of just the one stellar season at Auburn. But the Titans covet a defensive play-maker and they'll be thrilled that Fairley's game got picked apart sufficiently in the pre-draft scouting season to ensure his availability when their turn comes around.

A lot of mock drafts are showing Von Miller going in the top five. I have even seen one that if he dropped down to #6 the Browns might think about him.

True that he's not a QB...

And, he probably can lock down a guy.

Eh, actually, we know he can play football. Honestly, what worries me when i see a single digit score is what is he going to do off the field...

In no way am I saying the kid is anything but a good kid, because I don't know, and I'm not trying to have a bunch of Rhodes scholars either, but, when we're talking single digits, I think Chris Henry, Pac Man Jones, Vince Young...

This is a first round draft pick... big investment. Just something to consider.

As long as Peterson is just playing football I really don't care what his scores on a test. It's not like he is the marketing manager or whatever.

Except, he got a 9.

If he had just plain guessed he should have gotten 12 or 13.

WRs still available (3rd round was definately too early to take a WR as Gates was only one taken in the 3rd.)

Austin Pettis
Tandin Doss
Sanzenbacher
Maheal
Toliver
Denarius Moore
Niles Paul
Ronald Johnson

Also Brooks Reed is still available, I also would look at a top Dlineman if anyone see someone that has fallen.

Best CBs
Shareece Wright SC (CB)
Johnny Patrick L'ville (CB)
Marcus Gilchrist Clemson (CB)
Robert Sands WVU (FS)

Take Doss

Nicely played. Of course the trouble might be that if he can't spell his own name, he might not be able to master an NFL playbook. I know it's not like he's playing QB, but we don't want him getting an audible and ending up shaking hands with the hot dog guy instead of covering Bolden...

True, but there are other ways besides standardized testing for the Browns to discern his aptitude in that area.

To me, the Wonderlic is more useful for making fun of the institutions of higher learning these players were supposedly doing college-level academic work at.
