Cleveland Browns (2009 Season)

I was going to post the above article regarding the possibility of Edwards going to the Giants but it has been shot down so many times it seemed worthless. I think there has to be some legs to this trade because too many sites are talking about it.

The same goes about one of our QB's being traded. If one of them does not get traded, quite a few football "experts" (like Lombardi) are going to look like jackasses:!

I think the Edwards trade talk is legit, especially if they're not sure about the talent after the top few guys. Specifically the hybrid DEs/OLBs. They seem to be very hit or miss.

And Braylon is going to be gone if he thinks he's getting $10+ million from the Browns, might as well get some value out of him.

I think the only reason they are shot down is because the Browns would be stupid to do it until they know they can get their guy in the draft. I can easily see them pick Crabtree at #5 (he was in Berea the other day from what I read). But if you trade Braylon now you are opening the door for someone to trade up to steal Crabtree from you.

Plus you never know if a team decides to try to beat the Giants deal on draft day.

what was rebuffed regarding edwards was the proported 2nd, 5th, and hixon offer. it's going to take a lot more than that to pry edwards away.

as for the qb's, brady quinn obviously kicked lombardi's dog then donkey punched his wife. that is the only explaination for his irrational hatred of quinn. i'd say the odds of edwards being traded are substantially higher than the odds of either qb being moved.

One thing that makes me think that the Edwards talk is legit. I read a forwarded "Insiders" article, two days before the Winslow trade, stating that Winslow and Edwards weren't going anywhere. Ever since then, I've been convinced that Edwards is gone.

ESPN's rumor mill linked the Niners to the Quinn trade talk. They have a first on the table according to the site.

Quinn for the 10th pick is intriguing. If the Browns don't take that deal, they don't want to trade him.

Please god, not Crabtree.

I meant shot down by other guys who post on this thread not by the Browns organization. I completely understand what you are saying. By the way, next time you see Matt Underwood in the neighborhood time I said hi:wink2:

What's the problem with Crabtree? I know the offense definitely helped, but I've watched him every time I could since he came into college football and he looks legit to me. He always seems to get open, he has great hands, he can jump. The only thing with him is that he's not going to blow past a fast DB.. but he still knows how to get open.

That is pure crazy talk. No way SF gives up the #10 pick for a guy selected two years earlier at #22 (IIRC) and has proven nothing. Especially when they have a good shot at getting Sanchez (who myself and I think most others) consider a better prospect. I'd love it, but never gonna happen.

Exactly. It'd be a hell of a trade for the Browns. The fact that it's apparently on the table and hasn't been accepted tells me that Quinn will be the starter.

I've said it before, but Crabtree= Peter Warrick to me. I don't want immediate help to come from a flashy, quick but not fast, small, receiver from a gimmick offense. At the very least, the gimmick offense will handicap him for three years, because he doesn't know how to run the right routes, doesn't know a pro-style offense, and he won't be in camp his rookie season, his second year will be his first full season, and his third year we'll know what he can do, and we can trade him for a fourth round pick.

My gut tells me if a #1 is on the table it would be the Niner's #1 next year.

It's still likely going to be a pick valued higher than an unproven Brady Quinn. I don't see the Niners getting a pick out of the top 15.

(I follow the Niners pretty heavily)
