I heard on the local news tonite that Stallworth told the police he had been drinking, but had his last drink at midnite. If this thing happened at 7:00am as reported, I say the guy is toast. Even after not having a drink for 7 hours, and even if he slept for 6 or so hours, he is going to be way over the legal limit if he was 'partying hard" all day on friday. Most people can't calculate their own BAC levels and how long it takes for that stuff to leave your system.
You hear stories about airline pilots getting fired for showing up in the cockpit intoxicated. These aren't guys who sit at the bar and drink and then go fly a plane, these are guys who have dinner and drink after a flight, go to their room and get a good nights sleep, and wake up in the morning with too much juice still left in their systems.
I live in an area that is highly patrolled by the OSP. I often work on saturday and sunday mornings, and its amazing how many troopers are out looking for the "day after drunks" at 8:00am. It's a different "buzz" but it's still a "buzz." And it doesn't matter if the victim here was doing jumping-jacks in the middle of the road or not. If you're over the limit and hit ANY pedestrian, you're going down.
Peace.
