Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

No, no, no. I'm just mad that it's the Cowboys. The move itself is alright, but anyone but the Cowboys is all I'm saying.

And how do you not know that Frye sucks before the first game? Crennel and Chud had how many practices and pre-season games to figure it out. I saw it, so I'm not sure how they didn't.

Not sure how Brady would react to getting thrown into the fire, but I think we're gonna find out.

Agree about the defense...they looked good despite what the score reads.

Brady is used to the pressure, they might as well get him the experience now. He got thrown into the fire at ND his Freshmen year, then really took off as a Junior. Watch the Lions preseason game, he could feel the heat at times and scrambled away, then made a throw, which is more than Fyre will do at times.

Pulling off evade and throw against the Lions 3rd string is one thing. Pulling that off against a 1st string D all game is quite another.

Much as some Browns fans want him under center early, be careful what you wish for. Brady under center could easily lead to underwhelming and injury.

Well, I for one, will admit I would have liked to have seen BQ get a shot sunday when frye was choking on dick.

I understand he may get hurt (who cares:tongue2:) but I think the experience he can gain will outweigh the risk of death.

But then again, he has never seen a NFL 1st string defense, especially a steelers d.

Ahhhh! Why!!?

how long could you leave frye in there? he was borderline retarded. dieken and donovan do the radio broadcast and are right next to chudzinski in the booth. they said he was going apesh1t over frye totally screwing up anything.

as for giving a pick to the cowboys, after watched the franderson twins play qb yesterday, how can you not justify giving dallas a top 5 pick for a qb?

because as yesterday clearly has shown, the Browns are more than a QB away from even being competitive.

the logic behind that statement is still lacking.

say cleveland has the franderson twins at qb all year, and no quinn. who do you think they are going to pick at #4 in next year's draft? A qb.

They also showed a graphic of the 10 QB's the Browns have been through since coming back in '99 and I believe it was Gannon that said he spoke with Jon Gruden about that and he gives that as the reason they have been so unsuccessful. You can't have that many problems at QB and expect to be competitive. Now, who knows if BQ is the answer, but I would take him over any QB that would be available in the '08 Draft.

I grew up a big Browns fan... and why not with Lou groza, Dante Lavellie, Mac Speedie, Bill Willis, Otto Graham? They were interesting even when the lost, which was seldom... but these guys don't just lose, they suck and they get worse each year. How sad.

I wasn't even going to post in this forum for awhile but after reading this message I feel the same way because I also grew up in that era. I do think more discipline is needed on this team. Hopefully, they will do something while I am still on this good Earth.

Let me simply state that this team played absotuley dreadful football yesterday. I will not be surprised if this team goes 2-14 or even, possibly, worse if they play that bad all year long.

Charlie Frye is done in Cleveland. And it's not just because he couldn't the broadside of a barn yesterday. It's because the fans were only willing to give him one series to light the field on fire. After that, it was chants for Brady Quinn and booing. It was embarrassing to be at that game. The team was pitiful. The fans were assholes. And even the weather sucked.

Mark it down. This time in 2009, the fans will be booing Brady Quinn too... but at least then, we'll have a first-round pick in 2010.

nonsense. charlie frye has had going on 2 seasons to show some signs of progress as an NFL qb. he has not. in his 1.5 quarters of play, he made every mistake he possibly could, from not properly recognizing blitz packages, to holding the ball too long, to the int. frye played as poor as he possibly could, to the point that captain status quo crennel had to yank him. quit your excuse mongering.

Actually I think they'd pick up a Running Back in the 1st round and a QB later on down the road.

A franchise QB is wasted if his line sucks, he has no running game and his defense is on the field 40 minutes a game......

My logic is just fine thank you very much.

I don't think it will take that long.

The first 4 INT game should do it.

A little off topic here, but I have to ask myself "what am I doing to my son?". I'm not sure I want to raise him to be a Browns' fan, a lifetime of losing and being the object of constant ridicule. He is in 4th grade and already a Steeler fan classmate is giving him shit. This is not what I want for him. He also likes Tampa Bay, I'm going to encourage that, save him the heartache.
