To Donovan's credit, he said Quinn's completion to Steptoe was to someone else, then corrected himself.

As for Bernie, I disagree completely with a lot of people here. I love his analysis. Yeah, his delivery isn't the best, but what he says more than makes up for it.

We have been in agreement that his analysis is good, just his delivery is painful to listen to.

Dorsey looked better than anybody? I'm glad Dorsey was able to get into the endzone. The beginning of the drive was superb, he was kinda stalling near the end though. Quinn went 95 yards basically in less than 2 minutes, no time outs. He was 13/20 counting the spiked balls and the decent passes that were dropped, he did have a few passes that receivers had to adjust to though.
I honestly didn't expect much out of him in his first performance, but I think he showed he had guts and wasn't rattled by the pressure. He didn't take many hits, I think just one or two, avoiding the sack during the 2 point conversion was nice...its a shame the pass was just a little low. This may have been a 3rd and 4th string defense he was playing against, but the offense wasn't the best guys either. The real key will be seeing what he can do with the starters on both sides.

Browns quarterback Brady Quinn throws a touchdown pass to Efrem Hill in the fourth quarter.

CLEVELAND -- The Browns were trailing by 23 points last night, but the home crowd couldn't care less.
For the second straight home exhibition game, chants of "Brady! Brady!" resonated throughout Cleveland Browns Stadium as thousands of fans wanted to see quarterback Brady Quinn make his professional debut.
The fans finally got what they wanted, and then Quinn delivered in a big way.
Quinn, a Dublin native, passed for 155 yards and two touchdowns during the fourth quarter of the Browns' 23-20 exhibition loss to the Detroit Lions.

Since before the draft and after as I watched the posts from all the
Browns fans and taken note of all the BQ badmouthing and hate. I have been wondering what would happen if Quinn succeeded as the QB. What they all would say and feel and how funny it would be. Now that it looks possible that he might be the second coming of Christ to Cleveland what say you now Browns fans (Chuckling)

Now, I want to see Quinn be successful, but a 4th quarter appearance in an exhibition game against Detroit's practice squad is hardly an indicator of much of anything. I realize you are joking, but Christ? Let's see him against Baltimore's 1st team in a regular season game first.

Actually im serious because it would be very funny after all the whining and moaning and gnashing of teeth :tongue2:

I hope I have to eat crow sometime, but he is going to have to play like this in real games to change my mind. I do think he should get a chance to play with the starters next week since Frye and Anderson are competing to see who can suck more.

BTW , don't get me wrong , I have had nothing but pity for the Browns and their fans for so long that I would welcome some success for them. In fact I grew up listening to their games when they had Lou "the toe" with my grandfather. But that was in another time and/or world. well over 20 years or 30 hmmm 40 ? yup lol

In addition to BQ giving more reps with the first-team, I would also like to see Dorsey see a little more playing time. Charlie and Anderson have not shown me anything except that they can make mistakes. I thin one of those to have to go and they need to keep Dorsey for at least this season.

Who was #33 in the defensive backfield. Oh I remembered it was Perry. Anyhow, every time I saw him it was not in a good situation.

I don't like to make judgments just on one game but I think Williams needs to be a starter at LB. I don't care if he replaces Davis or Jackson I think he needs to be on the field.

Re Quinn, I'm cautiously optimistic. Although I think the competition was 3rd/4th string and guys who won't be playing in the NFL, he did what he needed to do. He completed the throws, ran the 2 minute drill and spiked the ball when he had to.

I'm not bookmarking "Start BradyQuinn.com" but I think his performance warrants a lot more playing time.

I guess I will agree with that especially since almost all of his throws were from the shotgun with which he is very familiar with because of his college days.
