Cincy -2.5 at USF (ov/un 49.5)

They won't jump us. The win over Wisconsin is more impressive. Our Schedule helps out now.
Don't be so confident. They beat a Nationally Ranked team on the road. A performance vs. Purdue akin to last year would probably allow them to leapfrog tOSU again. I don't expect a repeat of last year's performance, but if it were to happen, I think Cinci jumps ahead...maybe rightfully so.

To be fair to Fowler, I think he was just saying that it would be good for college football if we had a good intrastate rivalry, and that Cincy would be better than Toledo or Youngstown State because Cincy is a BCS conference team.

That's the only thing I needed to read to confirm Chris Fowler should keep his stupid fucking face shut. Why the fuck would tOSU need an itrastate rival, and why the fuck would it be good for CFB? tOSU is already a part of the greatest rivalry in sports, plus the new, yet nasty, rivalry with PSU...but yeah, Cinci would be good for CFB. :roll1:

Truth is, the rest of CFB wouldn't give a fuck, and tOSU would get blasted in most years for playing an intrastate game.

I won't....

but, please be fair in your assesment...Many OSU fans called for USF to win this game easily...

I recall exactly one OSU poster claiming this on BP.

UC went on the road against a ranked conference foe and won by double digit points after its best player left the game with an injury.

Let's not forget USF was without its starting QB for the entire game. At least Pike played into the second half before leaving the game.

no one would give a shit if Ohio State played Cincinnati in a BCS Bowl this year, the market share is too small and it isn't going to happen, so if it is not even a draw to play them in a bowl game why in the fuck would it be a draw to play them every year?

outside of the state does anyone give a shit about Oklahoma-Oklahoma St.? does anyone give a shit about Oregon-Oregon St? does anyone give a shit about Alabama-Auburn, supposedly one of the greatest rivalries in all of college football? the answer to all of the above is no, so why in the fuck would anyone give a shit about Ohio State-Cincinnati?

the only time anyone outside of the state cares about any of those in state games is when both teams are highly ranked, the chances of Cincinnati being highly ranked each year when they play the Buckeyes are exceedingly small

I don't get too worked up about all this. Good for the fans of UC that they have had some good teams the past two years. They are excited and feel thar they can play against anyone.

As far as getting pissed at the announcers, their job is to hype the games and teams they are playing. Them saying OSU wants no part of UC is just that hype and nonsense.

Having said that lets see how the season unfolds. Their last 4 games look brutal for sure.

UC's coach rubs me the wrong way for some reason, but I like seeing the product he has put on the field. He is finding a way to get his playmakers the ball in their hands and he is applying pressure on the offensive end. Fun to watch and seems to be working for them.

Finally UC is like a little brother who had a good game of basketball against his friends and is convinced they would take big brother to school if they played. No need to get worked up. Ignore it, humor them, or when the opportunity comes just beat them and set them back in their place.

I was pullin for USF during most of the 1st half. Always pull for the Underdog, plus USF seems to always have that "us against the world" role, and I like that. Then ma boy Collaros comes in, and I was a Cinci fan from then on, and I will continue to be while he plays. Talk about a performance coming off the bench in a hostile environment on the road. Sure looks like he didnt lose a step since High school

I agree. I did not like the way he handled his backup QB. There were a couple of times he could have controlled his emotions a little bit better. The one interception where the QB's arm got hit, Kelley started laying into him as he was coming off the field. It reminded me of how RichRod was treating his QBs last year when they made mistakes. He also layed into him during a goal line situation and the QB did not get the play quick enough and had to call time out. I do not think I recall Coach Tressel yelling at his QB during the games.

WVU is a trainwreck. Don't know about Pitt.

Why is WVU a train wreck? I think they've proven to be at least a decent team this season (only loss was in a close game, at night, on the road against a pretty good Auburn team). Certainly it's possible that they could beat a team the caliber of UC.

But a lot larger if Ohio State were to do something colossally stupid like taking a historically mediocre program and elevate them in the eyes of the state, recruits and the national media to the level of an all-time top 5 program by giving them an unearned yearly home-and-home rivalry series.

Let them play at this level for two decades, not two seasons, and then get back to us.
