Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

Can they no longer just wrap up the ball carrier? Whatever happened to "take a leg?" Instead of wrapping up the receiver's legs, let the guy get out of bounds with 15 seconds left so Stroud has plenty of time to get them into field goal range. Next play, once the receiver is almost in field goal range for their backup kicker, try to strip the ball instead of tackling him so that he gains 10 more yards.

Stupid shit like this is why I took a vacation from watching the nfl from about 1994 to Burrow's arrival.

1st and goal from the 8. Maybe, idk, give Mixon a shot at taking it in. A quick pitch out, perhaps, to get him in space?
Two run plays to start a drive get them to 3rd and 2. Great - on schedule. But to Zac, this is a great time to try to gain 15 yards with a low percentage pass, instead of anything else imaginable to just gain 2 yards. Three and out.

Last play of the game, their defender somehow manages to stumble backwards 8 yards straight into Trey's knee, rendering the one guy we most need on the field to defend against the ravens potentially out for at least that game. I just can't anymore.

To make matters worse, Trey is out for a few weeks with a hyperextended knee. Really in trouble on the DL, we were getting gashed yesterday. Not saying the season is over quite yet, but that was a major blow and a really inexcusable loss with the opportunities we had...really going to need a lot to get out of this deficit and probably need some help from other AFC teams. The schedule is pretty brutal from here on out.

I'm pretty sure they were just trying to hold him up at the end and slowly give yards so he would use the whole clock

Hmm, hadn't thought of that, but sounds rather boneheaded to me. Far riskier than simply making the tackle at about the 30. All they needed was one second left on the clock and receiver's like, "Thank you very much, dipshits." And of course the same kick would have been wide right from back there. Long distance, left hash, a nobody kicker.

if it leads to firing Zac Shula it won't be all bad.
If you're referring to hiding Burrow's injury, which affected the Vegas betting odds, I suppose it's technically possible once the penalty comes down. But of course, seems unlikely.

But it would be tremendous! Not just a silver lining, but an entire silver cloud. If Zac won't give up play-calling, we need to find someone who will, lol. Bengals need a good HC. Maybe let Lou Anaroumo take over? I'll bet that's what Mike would do.

Dave Portnoy says he's suing Bengals and NFL over Burrow injury: 'Refund all bets!'

Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy announced Friday he will sue the Cincinnati Bengals and the NFL following the team’s Thursday Night Football loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Portnoy placed a $120K bet on the Bengals Thursday to either win or lose by less than four points, a bet that carried a potential payout of over $229K. He expressed optimism in the team, saying on social media “I haven't given up on Bengals.”
